how would you like being told where you can and cannot donate funds to? Who decides who is deserving - you?
I'm not advocating that tactic. I'm advocating the choosing of who to do biz with based on their track record of either supporting or condemning crooks.

And again, while I'm all for the honorable tradition of charity, I don't like seeing funds earmarked for charitable disbursing being disbursed to bail out a bad guy (or his biz) when those funds could be better spent (charitably) elsewhere.

Yes he is mistaken. Do some research on the two companies. Hobby Lobby Creative Centers was founded by Mark Green in 1972. Hobby Lobby International Inc was founded in 1963 by James Martin. I know several of the guys that work at HL and fly with a few of them every weekend. Dont believe me call and ask them for yourself, 866-WE FLY RC is the number.

I more than willing to take your word for it -- I trust your research skills. That does indeed shed a different light on this particular situation regarding ORU (as to how I'll spend my dough), but I still believe the other concepts are valid.

I truly do not intend for this thread to become yet another religious debate.

However I do respect Jim's communication skills and his wisdom in seeing that honor and decency more often come out of individual choice rather than blind group-think, so I'll proceed anyway and say that I can respect an individual's choice to believe (true or false) whatever allows him or her to treat their fellow travelers on Planet Earth with decency and respect.

The fact nonetheless remains that most religious leaders are corrupt, and most religious followers follow blindly. Sad but true.
Silliness, pure silliness. - RCHeliJim
I will humbly quote a post from way back when:

The insanity of organized religion (particularly of the organizers) is the single biggest threat to our quality of life and to our survival facing human beings and all other life on this planet. This is an unpopular viewpoint but it is true.

The fact that some sheep are perfectly happy being repeatedly sheared in order to fund corrupt, felonious enterprises does not change the fact that the organizers of those enterprises are mostly criminals who belong in prison.

A real understanding of the true fundamentals of existence is the fastest path out from underneath the cruel thumbs of those who work hard behind closed doors to perpetuate the gathering of the tax-free fruits of their 'enterprises'.

And as for Mark Green, in this particular case I would've like to have seen him spend his family's charitable funds elsewhere. Apparently several agree -- good enough for me.

I think I'll close this thread. I've made my points and so have others.

After all, 'tis the season to be jolly -- fa la la la la -- la la, la, LA!
