I ripped out the stock tank and installed a scedau one instead (more fuel if you that's what you want, easier to see fuel level and neatly tucked inside the frame)

Used one of the plastic hex inserts that the kit comes with. Cut it in half, drilled a hole in the frame and screwed it on.

I'd recommend putting a plug on the fill line. I have hade those clips pop open.

Where are you guys getting the HTR tank/bracket kit?

Heliproz is out of stock everytime I look and so is Rick's. Haven't been able to find them anywhere else...

why no header tank from align

I am new to gas helis so excuse my ignorance ,why did align not put a header tank on the heli from the start , is it just a attempt to save some weight

They didnt put one on because they dont need them. I fly hard 3D and have got 75 flights with my 600N with no problems, and I dont use a header tank. Some people have had instances with their other poorly designed models and still want the security of one so they put them on anyways. Its added insurance I guess. I still dont believe the 600N tank needs a header tank. Thats my 2 cents.

i seen some people using rear wing spacers from 1/8th scale off road buggies.i made mine from some aluminum tubing i had laying around then a bolt thru it and a lock nut inside of the frame

2 other reasons which you left out, and don't really have anything to do with the reliability:

Easier to see the fuel level. The stock tank isn't very translucent.

More flight time.

Mikado Logo 400, hopefully ready by spring.
