If I compare G2 with Pheonix, are the flight characteristics so different (better) that it's worth "upgrading" ? I've downloaded the demo and of course it's very nice, but the real test would be to try it. Unfortunately, I don't have access to it so I need your opinions/arguments.

Thanks
Bruno

Hi BrunoB,
Compared to G2, yes it's worth the upgrade. IMO you will have a much improved simulated experience.

I've owned a few RC simulators starting back with Ambrosia "Aerochopper", had Dave Brown Flight Sim, yep they helped me solo my first plank.

Then came RealFlight, wow... still have my G2 and after upgrading to G3 then G3.5 it was still pretty cool….. But ended up buying AeroFly Pro (AFPD) which was highly recommended for 3D plank flying plus I own an ECO8 and wanted the simulated heli.

So, I traded off my G3.5 and do fly my G2, Clearview and AeroFly Pro. Not owned FSOne, ReFlex or G4 so, I can not comment nor compare however; since buying PhoenixRC, I rate it #1. Really is a nice simulator that compliments many computers setups without sacrificing all your resources to run it.

For me, PhoenixRC has been the best simulator experience to date, has put me the closest to the real thing and exceeded my expectations.

Hope this helps

I have been through the gambit of flight Sims over the last couple of years and Phoenix is the one I fly. The rest I fed to the EBay monster, except for G2, didn't like the taste I guess.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

If you have the money and the computer horsepower switch over as soon as possible.
I did the same thing that you are thinking about. About two weeks ago I upgraded to Phoenix from G2. Can never look back now. G2 was good to learn how to hover and proper stick inputs. The Raptor 30 is mostly what I have been flying and in the sim it flys just like I am at the field. Turn up the resolution and graphics on your monitor and it looks like you are at the flying field.
Way better than Realflight G4- that only has a handfull of helis.
With Phoenix they have made the effort to get up to date and use current helicopters.

I received it Monday, that is 4 working days directly from them!!! That's what service is all about.

Ok, I've quickly tested the Raport 50 and 50 3D as is and they did not WOW me. I'm going to step back, read and test some more. I have a lot of questions so I will try to find the answers and post the unanswered ones.

I had a look but the software on the CD was the latest version so I did not download anything yet. What did you have in mind?

After using the software for a week, all I can say is WOW for many reasons; the realism, the software quality, the graphics and the support (downloads), etc.

I really enjoy spending time on the sim.

Well done.
