How do you tighten the belt for the tail? Is there any adjustment?

After you tigten it, hold the tail rotor in one hand and turn the main rotor (not too aggresive). It should not skip.

So, the whole tail boom slides in and out of the plastic holder in the heli? I loosened those bolts and it stil seemed to be very tight.

Just don't want to screw somthing up.

yes it does slide loose. The plastic might be molded tight.
