How do you measure your cyclic pitch accurately? Do you use any measuring tool(i.e. protractor)to achieve a true degree cyclic measurement?

Any info is highly appreciated.

Most people use a commercially available blade pitch gauge, not all are highly accurate but good enough to give a measurement.

Start with swash level (perpendicular to main shaft), and collective pitch at zero degrees. Lock the flybar perpendicular to the main shaft.
Place the main blades fore/aft. Measure pitch. Should be exactly 0 degrees when you measure the front blade with blades dead fore/aft (rear blade directly over boom). Now fully deflect aileron/roll cyclic. Measure pitch. Should be 6-7 degrees. Deflect opposite direction and measure again. Should be about the same.
Now turn the blades 90 degrees so one flybar is direct over boom. Measure main blade pitch. Should again be 0 degrees. Now deflect full elevator cyclic. Measure main blade pitch. Should be 6-7 degrees. Repeat on opposite elevator input.

Jim, Droid

Now it make sense, I missed the part locking the flybar on my initial setup. All the time during my initial setup, I just measure my desired collective pitch window and ignoring the cyclic setup.

Now I need a flybar lock and swash leveler.

Thanks for the info.

What if you check the cyclic and say it goes 8 one way and 5 the other way ..Are you guy using a mix to get them the same?

Whether or not you need a flybar lock depends on the rotor head design and if it has a 1:1 flybar ratio (like the Raptor) or something other than 1:1 such as the Hirobo heads.
