Just finished the build of my nitro sport Although the tail rotor turns anti clockwise when seen from behind the heli, still the rotor head doesn't turn freely Certainly not like the raptor 50 that I also have. Is that normal?

Make sure you have the belt on correctly. Look at the manual and make sure you have the tail blades on in the right direction and the tail pitch system is built correctly. If so, when the tail rotates backwards, you know you twisted the belt the wrong way...

I think the tail blades rotate (looking at the right side of the heli) up into the mains this would be counter clockwise. Unless the 600 is different than the others I have owned.

Mains clockwise when viewed frm the top tail counter from the right side turning up into the mains

Twist the belt 1/4 turn clockwise as viewed from the rear.

1/2 a twist is impossible, the drive pulleys are at 90 degrees to each other.
Main gear turns clockwise, counter gear turns, wait for it... counterclockwise. Turn belt 1/4 clockwise and voila tail turns counter clockwise as viewed from the right side of the machine.

Ok , so long as when you turn the mains clockwise, the tail turns counterclockwise (leading edge coming up into mains down wash) then that is correct. Just make sure theres no "extra" twist in the belt. i didnt disassemble mine to check but if main gear spins clockwise, the secondary gear should then be spinning counterclockwise. that being the case then a 1/4 turn clockwise should make it pull from the bottom of the tail output. Wow that was a mouthfull and so much easier to fix and help with in person.!
