Someone help me out here... what is the big deal about the Trex500?? What is a 500 size machine? I'm guessing it's like owning a Raptor 30 over a 50? Why get one of these if they already have the 600 out there? My only guess would be that it is going to be cheaper and the batteries will be cheaper... anything else?

Yup it's a .30 size electric heli. Yes you guess is right, it's uses like 6S 2100mah batt witch is a little cheaper.

If you go out to the Bennitt field you'll see Alan Szabo flyin it.

hope it helps

Sounds better to just have a Trex 450 on 4s to me.

.30 size is 500mm typically and stretched to 550mains. The 500 rex is 425mm guys, a maximum of 440mm can be used. This was stated by Andy at "the other site". It is a "Lepton" sized machine.

That is why it is so confusing because there is the 450 class which runs 325mm blades and a 500 class which run a 425mm blade and a 600 class which run a 600mm blade. The only one that fits its name is the 600 class.

Maybe it is just the size of the machine that makes it a big deal. The 450 is really awesome but when breezy not as easy as say a 600 but the 600 is not exactly a park heli so maybe the 500 fills the gap between the two? Just an opinion.

The 450 and 500 relates to the motor, not the blades. Similiar to the system we use on the glow birds, we don't call them 600's or 720's they are referenced by the engine size, .50 and .90 respectively.

It's great for the 450 owners that want a slightly bigger heli because you can use two of your 450 Lipos. No need to buy more batteries. I'll probably get one just for that reason. I hate buying batts for my 600.

Problem is you should match both packs in terms of number of use. Also, should balance both packs to get max performance.

No just coincidence that a 600 size motor runs 600mm blades
