Well last weekend at the field was very interesting for a few of us. Before you read on, the the field was empty of people and vehicles.

It was getting late in the afternoon and once all of the plankers had gone home, my friend and I decided to attempt a plank vs heli drag race from a standing start. Well I had the Raptor 50 and my mate had a youcando 90. For obvious reasons the Youcando took out the drag race outright so we decided to see who could do the best circuits and stall turns (seemed fair at the time).

Well things got a bit interesting when at the top of the stall turn the youcando's 90 sized prop shore off a large chuck of my curtis blades. My main rotor managed to distroy the youcando prop and cut all servo leads to the elevator. You can see the results in the photo.

But, the best bit is that we landed both the heli and the plank (the heli with only one good rotor and the plank with no elevator!!!)

I am pretty gutted we didn't have a camera. There was one around early in the day but we didn't want to start horsing around with people about. It was very amusing as the sound of carbon fibre tearing up balsa is unforgetable. The miracle is that when I shore of his elevator leads the elevator was in just the right position to get it into a glide slope. The raptor was a bit of a handful but it flew well for such a beating!
