so... I accidentally washed one of my 4gb SDHC cards this weekend. It was in my jeans pocket from last weeks Cardinals Stadium shoot.

Not only was it washed but it was dried in the dryer as well. So let's see... washed in warm water for 17 minutes and then dried in the dryer at over 200°f with a load of jeans for 40 minutes.

When I saw what had happened I was irritated that I let it happen and thought "well... there goes a good 4gb card"

Popped it in the card reader and not only does it work but all my pics from the shoot are still on it.

and for those of you smarta$$es.... no, the pics don't look any clearer.

Hooray for SanDisk.

Very lucky

I'm going to check my identical card tonight after I buried my A640 yesterday... totally rooted the camera but they do build those Canon 0.7 lenses strong!!!

DJ,
O.K. Obviously the photos would not be any cleaner. But, I'll bet the colors will be a little washed out.

Thanks now you made me wake up my kids from laughing so hard.

I'd really like to get a big SSD for my laptop ( well, my tower would be great), but to have just a 64 gig drive would work fine on my laptop, just for the quick loading of stuff.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

I did the same to one of my flashdrives. Through the wash and the dryer. Came out working like new!

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for my canon SD600 camera. I left it in my jacket pocket and the wife put in the washer. Didn't realize that had happened until I put everything in the dryer and was hearing a 'thump... thump.. thump... ' sound. I was like, 'what the hell is that?'. Anyways, got it out of the dryer and it was DOA.

Even if the electronics did survive, I doubt the optics would.
