Yeah, I saw them live and they sucked.
I also saw twisted sister who opened for maiden and they were pretty entertaining. Maiden sucked, Dickinson's voice was HORRIBLE. Best shows I've seen were pink floyd, deep purple, AC/DC, and rush.

When Randy was playing for quiet riot, he was nothing special. He was propelled into superstardom by Ozzy's awesome musical talent. Ozzy's guitar players were great because Ozzy demanded the best from them. Ozzy's musical talent oozes into every guitar player he has ever been involved with. Ozzy is a rock ICON, not Randy.

I beg to differ...

Both of Randys parents were music teachers...he was a classically trained musician and was a teacher himself...it shows in the way he plays...

It was rumored that he wanted to quit rock to get a masters in classical guitar.

He inspired me to learn classical guitar, but I'll never measure up...

Here's Randy with Quiet Riot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HS8c0DWqIEI

skip to 2:20 to see him ripping it up...not much different than when he was with Ozzy...

I won't argue that Randy was a very proficient guitar player and he definitely shows it in that video. But being a great musician does not equate to making great music. That solo is nowhere near as musical and melodic as the stuff he did with Ozzy, Ozzy would have never accepted that.

One of the best examples I can put forth is Keith Richards. Now that guy's playing ability sucks, but the music he makes is awesome. I'm not even a Stones fan but it's hard not to respect that guy's musical talent. He IS the Rolling Stones.
Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen are all better than VanHalen, but they'll never come close to Eddie's musical talent.
Zakk's guitar work on 'No More Tears' is fabulous music. It's pure Ozzy talent, not Zakk. Zakk, Randy, Tony, Jake are nobody without Ozzy. When Ozzy left Sabbath, Sabbath went with him, and Iommi's music was never the same again.

Anyone who plays the guitar or the drums knows about timing,(I play both) it is obvious to the trained ear that Zakk is not a musician but a hack. He's a very sloppy player, his timing sucks and he uses a bunch of filler notes that dont make any sense.

But, I know...Ozzy's urine cures cancer...

Cant argue with that logic
