That youtube debate is the tip of the iceberg. Issuses relating to a world government have been evolving for a very very long time, with a strong push in World War 2, followed by the development of the internet. The most recent big step was 911 which was a smokescreen used by the powers that be to push into the next phase of the global operation. Things are developing so quickly now, the single global government is just about to arrive.

What is it that automatically makes a world government a bad thing? Maybe it's time we started identifying ourselves as members of the human race and citizens of planet earth. What are people afraid of?

No it's not necessarily a bad thing but it depends on the nature of motivation that drives the power hungry. There is no question now that the planet needs a responsible governing body if it is to survive but if this is driven from a purely financial aspect, it will fail, and sadly, the human race with it. China is a very interesting issue beacuse it's now the last place to offer cheap manufacturing although this will be short lived. In a few short years, the Chinese populus will be better educated and making more deamands. Hopefully, this will bring an end to the often rediculously low prices we pay.
So often I buy stuff which has an unrealistically low price tag. I find myself thinking that somebody somewhere is paying for this, possibly child labour or an exploited community. I'd happily pay more if I knew that this was because the price was fair and just, and in the current environment, was representative of the costs involved in maintaining the global status quo in all its facets.

Really?

That source of reality is an offset positive conceptual diversion.

Yup. We all want to pay the bottom price for something but is that necessarily the correct price given the implications.
Anyway, bollocks to money, as this is the evil that captivates most. Price or cost is a much bigger entity that just money.
Not sure about what your "Really" applied to

It applied to the slight tug you should be feeling as I pull your leg. That was a re-tooling of a previous quote of yours, said entirely in jest, wot Wot?

Seriously though, your assessment of the value of paying 'proper' prices is all fine to ponder were everyone able to pay 'proper' prices -- but discount stores like Walmart and others rely and even prey on the fact that many (most?) folks live on the edge financially, and must always choose to buy everything at the lowest possible prices regardless of whether or not it makes sense from a long-term worldwide point of view.

We have all over indulged in apparent material wealth, made possible by manufacturers driving down prices and giving us false expectations. Remember when you were a kid, and really looked after and valued your posessions (what few you had) ? It just aint like that now
I would be very happy to pay MUCH more for products if I knew that the labour force responsible for manufacturing it were being paid farely and the costs covered cleaning the polution it created etc. If it was too expensive for me, then so be it.
