a new employee started up at work, and we ended up talking about helicopters. he was telling me that he flies models, so i asked him about some of the details.

he was saying he has a large airwolf (couldn't give me an engine size) but said it was 3-4 feet long, plus he had a couple others...

ok...sounds cool.

then he tells me he hasn't flown them in about 10 years....

so ok....they are all probably obselete by now, but ok...i start to think about recruiting him to join our heli only club (we need members)...

then he tells me about some of his flying experiences.

he tells me that when he was flying his airwolf one day, he had it up about 10 feet high, but couldn't seem to get it down again...his solution was to throw a gym bag at it and made it come crashing down.

then im thinking...ok...stay away from our field! LOL

just thought i would share that, if it wasn't for the tossing fo the gym bag, i wouldn't have said anything, but i thought it was pretty funny...and dangerous/careless.

he was in the reserves for 7 years, and shot in the leg twice with an AK while in samalia (spelling)

not saying none of it is true...but he had the cocky mindset...

Years ago I had a friend who bought a helicopter from some unknown chap. The chap said he and his wife were at a picnic table when this helicopter (30 size) just flew down and gently landed next to them, with nobody around !!! This was back in the days of mechanical gyros, if you had one at all. My friend knew nothing about helis and so believed him. After many crashes of self teaching he now knows it was probably a stolen heli, and the seller didn't know crap about the stability of them either.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?
