This weekend there was a crazy special for the Gazaur Mars 480 for $199 at Hobby-Lobby and had to jump the gun and order one myself too.

Anybody else buy one also or have one?

flown one a few times. wasnt impressed the frames are very thin and flexible so much so you could hear the gear mesh changing in flight.

Vic, i have had a pair for over a year, they are very impressive machines with lots of parts. Its a little bigger than the regular 325mm machines and once assembled they work very well. The mfs head gives the heli a different feel , no better or worse than anything else just different.

Sit down and enjoy the build.

we can never have too many, can we ?

there were 2 sizes in my box. The smaller ones (325mm) work well for higher headspeeds and the longer ones (340) work very well at 2200HS.
I currently have 325 cf blades on and a z-power 3800.

we can never have too many, can we ?

I never bothered taching it, I just set it up so its happy.
All these little ones i do the same. Run them up until they protest then i know its too fast, back off until its happy and thats it.

I dont have patience for all the numerical data these days. Headspeed in its happy place, motor, esc and packs NOT hot and thats all i do.

Stopped by HL on my lunch break today and some of you might be happy to know that are leaving the price on these at $199. They are impressive little machines, the CNC head with floating flybar is a work of art. Have seen a couple of guys flying them at our field doing some pretty hardcore flying straight out of the box. Once I stop crashing the TRex I will have one of these...

Nice guys. I did some past reading about this Mars 480 and it seems you really need a strong motor at least 4000kv or bigger to push it. I got the new Scorpion HK2221-6 400kv 525watt motor to throw it around pretty good. Can't wait to get mine this Thursday!! There's some new metal upgrades being developed also, unless thats what u saw already Chris. Is so, where they for sale at Hobby-Lobby already?

You've got to stop making these posts, I've managed to resist it so far, but you're making it VERY tough to continue resisting it.

LOL just do it man you know you want to

They had one sitting on the counter while I was there, from what he was saying thats how they come out of the box with the CNC head. Not sure what other upgrades are coming, have seen them flying them but the kit was a little pricey so I never paid too much attention to it. I had heard a rumour that they were thinking of going with a different line and asked about it. He said they dropped the price to $199 and as long as they are moving them at that price they will continue to carry them. They really are slick looking helis.

Yea, thats a killer combo. Now that I got the 55amp ESC, its a little big, but still fits under the canopy of the Mars kit. I was using before a 35amp Align ESC with the HK2221-6 motor on my mini-titan and it worked fine, so your 45amp Scorpion ESC should work perfect.

The Mars kit includes a 10t and 11t pinion. I'm gonna use the 10t for now till I get some Carbon Fiber Blades. I was thinking of getting 350mm RotorTech Blades, but they seem a little too big for this kit. The stock wood blades that came with the kit are 335mm.
