I´ve been reading around a little about the DX7, but I just can not figure out whats so special about it except the 2.4ghz system.

I´m thinking of buying a new radio. I´m still not sure wether it will be a 9Z WC2, mx22 or a DX7.

I mostly fly helis, F3K gliders and large scale gliders.

I don´t seem to find out how many fligh phases I have on the DX7,

thanks for the help,

hakim

get the 9 zap wc2 it has all the fetures you will ever need and all the mixes and if you want to go over to 2.4 gig you can buy the 7 channel modual out now or the 8 channel out in january. IMO the dx7 is great but is lacking mixes and i aint sure if it have got a dedicated glider setting like the zap

what speaks against the 9Z is that its a old radio and that the antenna would stick out the bottom.

whats with the whole response time thing? do you really feel a difference?

i just sold my 9z wc2 and got my dx7. it has penty of features for me, easier to use, lighter, feels better in the air, and is cheaper. i havnt found any drawbacks yet besides the convertng of all my aircraft recievers.

i agree that the 9z is an old radio and if you dont like the ariel sticking out of the bottom get the spectrum modual as this uses the 2.4 in the same place as the normal ariel but it all depends on you and it comes down to personal prefernce and if you need all the features

The DX-7 has one of the least amount of latency. I went from a JR XP9303 and I love mine. I don't need more than 6 channels since I fly electrics exclusively. You won't be disappointed.

Good feedback guys, your really helping me on the decision. The only thing I really need is three flight phase of the F3K (launch, thermal, speed).

Yeah, mixes, I never really used the full potentail of my mc22, so I should be alright.

Other thing, (if im buying the dx7) I´m planing on buying it at unitedhobbies, does anyone know if they sell the american version with the strong signal output or the weak european version?

I have another question about the dx7, how many timers does it have? can you program a timer that starts when you start your (electic) engine?

It has a totalizing (resettable) timer, called "integral timer" in DX7 parlance that you can use to keep track of total time since recharging, and a flight timer.

Unfortunately, the flight timer will not start automatically with throttle stick movement like some other radios. You have to manually start it.
