Chris,
Shzzle and bling did not exist back in the Arcamax Pi Pro days!!! I still have two dead Pi Pro's right now. A sensor died on one and the Main unit on another.

Have any of the team pilots flown the Solid G on the Aurora??? If so I want to know what if any of the parameters you have had to tweak to get it dialed in.

I met with Alan and Marcus tonight. I had a long chat with them about gyros. They seen to think the Spartan is the ticket. I must say I like the fact it dose not require a second box(gyro Amp) both of them say it works very well with the 8900G servo.

I am leaning in the way of a JR9303, all JR servos and a Spartan Gyro and YS engine.

as for the heli, it will be either an Aurora or Vibe 50, witch ever shows up first.

No, I sure don't. I have a brand new 611 in the box. I am not sure what I am going to use. If I end up with a Vibe 50 and Aurora,(which is the plan for next year) I think I will run the 611 in the Aurora and the Spartan in the Vibe 50 due to the fact that the spartan is lighter.

Cheers Dave

While all you Jedi Knights are speculating about which heli comes out first let's try to keep at least one thread on track.

Who has flown the Solid G on an Aurora???

The 611 is a great gyro.
I disagree.

It was, its not anymore compared to "todays" gyro.
If you have tried a Solid-G, CSM720 or Spartan you know what I mean, and you will never go back to the 611.

Sure thing, the 611 will hold the tail, but that will all do, however:

Piro-rate consistency, the gy611 suck on it, its WAY easier to learn piroflips, and other piro moves with a good gyro which have great piro-rate consistency.

I have to agree. i have never got my 601 to perform the way I would like. In fact, I did not notice that much difference between the 401 and the 601.

Thats a pretty funny statement. I would not say it sucks on it, but the newer gyros are probably better at it, I say probably because I can't speak from experience as of yet on the performance of them. For me, the real benefit of the Spartan over the 611 or Solid G for me is the lack of the amp box. If Futaba came out with a amp boxless 611 I'd be all over that monkey but the Spartan gyro is cool and new and I like that movie 300 too.

the 611 was and is a great gyro... so was the 601. The new JR gyro is not bad and I have flown them. The Solid G. holds better and the piro is smooth and constant. I have not flown the spartan but obviously Alan Jr and Marcus Kim like it. I was told by a few others that are up there as pilots whom said it did not hold and it drifted but dont take it from me.

Becasuse as proven by the Spartan, it's just simply not needed anymore IMO, and it's just one more thing to break in a crash, and one less thing to mount, and less wires to route which provides a cleaner looking set up also.
