Looks like the frame is mounted real low in cantfly100's 500E (judging by the height of the AR bracket). You can see in one of my pics that I had to cut away a piece of the front cowl to accomodate the frame. Mine is raised up probably a good 1/2" using the T-Rex struts. Boom stikes weren't my concern, but the flybar paddles come awfully close to the fuselage. Something you want to be aware of before going nuts on the cyclic during flight.

Another noteworthy point is the side windows. I'm running mine open and there's still considerable heat build up.

Hi,
thanks all.
Here some other pics.
My Red position light have not the same angle as the green, you can see this at the floor.
But i cant to adjust it now, is clue with CA.
I know the right position of them is on the front of the landing skid, but i elected this position for this lights, 'cause i dont want to drill a hole in the alu landing skid for the wire.

Your navigation light position is ok. There are 2 versions of MD-500E. The common one is at the tip of landing skids but there is another version whereby the navigation light is at the bottom of pilot door.

Hi Kenali,

the Blades are from http://www.blattschmied.de. i hope it is allowable to post the producer link???
the carbon red blades are x-treme 325
He makes very good blades , for me i think it under the top 5 blade producer.
For German relation are very cheap and good.

And for all headspeed Freaks, he made x-treme ultra blades , these are for 4000rpm Headspeed.

greets

That is one of the nicest trex 450 scale builds I have ever seen.. The detail is perfect except there is no festoon tail on it which kills the entire heli... Still worth a look.... Here's a link to it... http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t388732p1/

Tom..... No "D" flying....

All the pics of the green military 500E Ive seen Yes, Its not a true OD army green. The Army paint their helis a different color than OD green. I dont know what the spec color is called but I do think the OD greed was more of a WWII Color. I use to be an Army Scout heli mechanic so, I do know that the color the army uses isnt OD green on its helis. Well, at least it isnt the OD Green we usually call OD green.

Is that Olive Drab?

Sure wouldn't want to be flying with trees as my backdrop.

Yes Olive Drab. Any Dark Color can be a challenge with a treed background. Even up high in a clear blue sky or cloudy Sometimes its hard to tell whether your comming or going. I think a good color scheme is one that will help you determine which direction youre going.

Receiver Antenna

Hi Guys,

The Align 500E is sitting on the work bench. Glued the struts on, waiting for heli parts to test fly the 450S befor stuffing it. Anyway, got to looking at things. I've got a DX6 with the 2 short little wires off the receiver. Ought to fly and everything OK with the antenna inside the fuselage shouldn't it? Anyone who's flying using a 2.4 radio?

Hughes 500E Assembly

Hi Guys,

This is for the Hughes 500D or E projects out there. Couple things I've run into I need help with. Is anyone running a plastic tail assembly? How do you assemble everything, then tighten the belt? How on earth did you get the aft mounting screws in?

I trial installed the heli in the body today and ran into the above problems. I found longer screws to hold the tail assembly together and got the servo installed and operational OK, but the tail boom isn't real solid in there is it?
