One more from Oklahoma here..rural Okfuskee. I fly planes and helis in a hay meadow beside the house. I doubt there's any pilots closeby, but all are welcome if it'll save you a long trip for a simple test flight or something.

Yes, Castle is basically an intersection of 2 highways with a few houses scattered around. It has a little post office which my mail goes through so I list that as my location to avoid confusion when buying/selling. I actually live about 10 min north in "Mason"

Have a look...

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Mason...1&t=h&z=17&om=0

My house is on bottom. Just north of the house is the runway, see? The meadow was just mowed so it's not very defined. Not sure what those jellyfish looking features are. Maybe impact marks

I have worked on several AOG aircraft (RRT Duncan Aviation) that were there. And a few other aircraft on the Ramp. Not for AAR directly though.

Seems like an ok place, but I work for the DOD at Tinker AFB.

Hello fellow Oklahomans. I fly at Torks on the south shore of Lake Hefner. I am really proud of our club as it has become more heli friendly as each year passes. In fact, on a busy Saturday or Sunday, I would say the heli flyers to plank flyers is almost a 50/50 split. The plane guys (myself included, I fly both!), have really warmed up to us and have seen that we are safe and courteous. Its not uncommon to have planes and helis in the pattern at the same time.

RyanW, I've met you a couple of times down here (Jared C got me started in helis). I don't think I've met any of you other guys unless I have seen you at Jerry's shop and just don't know you other than by your screen name.

Sorry to see you go to Stillwater Scott. You're becoming a cowboy!

I live in Mt. Pleasant, Tx. but I do go to school in Durant, Ok and do quite a bit of flying there. Closest field I know of is the Sherman field.

OKC, Shawnee area here...just got into helis, went from a crappy v-3 Lama to an AXEcp. Learning the ropes (hover, forward flight, circuits) on that one while getting the Rex 450 ready. Axe is fun, but tail control is very frustrating, thats why I can't wait to give the rex a try. Special thanks to Jerry at Oklahoma Hobbies for all the help and advice. Super nice folks there, and hope to get more free time to allow me to get to the field.

My Posts: All  Forum  Topic

can I get in on this? I live in Wagoner OK, I'm about 50 miles out from Tulsa, right next to the lake(Ft Gibson). I fly sometimes down by the ramp area. you can either fly over water, paved parking lot or landing strip for restaurant. Sounds like a lot of choices, but even with all these choices, I prefer to drive 50 miles to fly with the best bunch of guys you would ever want to fly with in Tulsa. I feel lucky to have a bunch of "mentors" that you will probubly never catch up with, skill wise, and they don't mind showing someone, over, and over, and over, how to do something correct. If you are in the Tulsa area and want a great place to fly, go to glue dobbers field.
