The fun answer would be the casing portion of a petard. They were a sorta kinda nautical hand grenade way back when. The word petard has been co-opted to discribe a good variety of things that explode, for some time. You'll find images with similar looking metal parts attached to wooden handles. Stick with petard until someone shows proof that it was some kind of bushing.

Thanks, the first one is very close but this is made out of heavy ceramic it has three groove on the bottom and fore on top and vas a hard coating inside

Exactly how big is it? It is hard to tell from the pictures. About how much liquid could it hold? Could it be a way to melt lead for a musket shot?

If that is the case, how are those people recovering gold coins and etc, then selling them. There are professional treasure hunters. Some of them have made a lot of money. Although I do think there are a lot of ship wrecks that are protected, but maybe this was not one of them.

If it was a condom, I bet the native women were very disappointed.
