Why wouldn't you set it up the same way you would if you were using a PCM or PPM receiver? The FASST system doesn't change the channel assignments.

You can Y haress the battery to any channel, personally I'd use the gyro gain since the battery only uses the power leads and the gyro gain only uses the signal wire.

My setup when I had a GV-1

Use Ch 7 with the 3 pos switch to use all three rpm speeds.
Ignore the on/off lead on the GV-1
Enable stick switching (turn on >20% throttle)
Set one of the three rpm speeds to minimum which will turn off the GV.

With the 3 pos switch you can set off/low/high speed or low / off / high speed.

I'm also using the R607 and TM-7 on my Futaba 9C handset with the GV-1.

I like Fritz's suggestion about using a 3 position switch to toggle between off/low/high speeds. However, what's interesting is that if CUT-CH in the Governor menu is set to CH7 then throttle hold is able to switch the GV-1 off.

Try it, you'll be able to have the 3 position switch change between low/medium/high and still switch the GV-1 off when you turn throttle hold on.

This got me thinking, how was throttle hold turing the GV-1 off when all 3 RPM speeds on the GV-1 were above 1,001 RPM? By looking at the servo screen you can see that throttle hold brings CH7 right down (-140%).

So, if you can configure one of the P-MIX's to bring CH7 down to -140% when you flick a switch you can actually turn the GV-1 off and still have the 3 positon switch change between low/medium/high. This would essentially give you the same control as you'd have with an 8 channel receiver!

Now, what I'm not sure about is how to actually program this mix in. I've been trying for the last hour or so and I'm not getting anywhere. Do any of you guys know how this could be done? And more importantly, does any of this make sense?

Thanks,
Beatnik.

Beatnik unfortunately I don't think your plan will work -- I suspect you've still got the gov on/off feature on the 9C Governor screen set to CH7, hence why going to throttle-hold is not only turning off the governor (as it should anyway), but also fully switching CH7 to -140.

The GV-1 is reporting Off because thr-hold automatically drops CH3 to 0% (and you have the GV-1 set to switch the governor off with low throttle position, which is required if you don't use the CH8 on/off), hence the misleading findings.

So you should set Governor on/off to CH8 on the 9C so it doesn't interfere with your speed setting channel and is ready to rock and roll if you ever upgrade to the TM-8 module, and just go for the off/low/high speed settings on your Idle switch E, or C if preferred.

Alas you are correct DemonJim, after 2 hours of getting the PMIX to work how I wanted, I independently came to the same conclusion as you. The reason the GV-1 reports OFF when in throttle hold is indeed because CH3 (throttle) drops to 0%, and not because CH7 drops to -140%.

Shame really, I thought I was on to something.

I've decided to run a low/medium/high setting which is linked with norm/idle-1/idle-2. If I need to turn the GV-1 off in an emergency I can just use throttle hold.

Still, not totally wasted effort. I now know the PMIX options of the 9C like the back of my hand
