Hi I am wondering if someone on here can help me. I notice there have been a few comments about the Pegasus Heli, and how impressed people have been with it. I purchased one of these last week and am trying to get it dialed in but am having problems. I have run about 3 tanks of 30% through and am now trying to get this bird off the ground. I can get it light on the skids and just off the deck, but then the motor sounds as though its maxed out and wont give any more. I have set it up as per the wonderful chinese/english manual as far a pitch curve etc. Also there is no mention in the book about engine settings, how many turns out on the needle, I have it about 3 turns at the moment. I am new to Nitro helis, have been flying a HoneyBee King2 for a few months, and am using this as a stepping stone to a larger 30 or 50 size. Can some of you pilots who have flown this be so kind as to give me some ballpark settings to try and get this off the ground.

Thanks in advance

It might be an idea to ring up LHC as they are pretty well clued up on this heli, I have always had good advice from them and they are keen to help. If you can't get any further forward try a local club who may be able to help. Failing that you could go to the LHC 3dx comp at the end of the month and see if you can get some hands on advice.
It may be that your engine is not quite upto full tune as yet, and will require a bit of tweaking. I am reluctant to give you any tuning advice with this engine as I don't have first hand experience with the engine. I am however going to get one myself as soon as I can to give them a try out, so may be able to help in the not to distant future.

Good luck

hi gardgas you got a manual? i had to guess
with mine. i got one a few month ago they do
need to rev, but when you sort them they fly
great a lot of fun. the pitch was out on mine
and the guide for the washout was to low so i
moved the guide up to the base of the head and
ajusted the rod to give me a 10/10 pitch curve
i also put glass blades on i found some sab0341
blades that are 440mm these made a big difference
over the flat bottomed sticks you get with it.
i just checked the mixture screw on mine and
it is 3 turns out.

Thanks for the replys guys. I have been onto LHC and they have offered to check it out for me and test fly it on Saturday. I am wondering if my pitch curve is somewhat out!!. I am presuming the powerband of this little motor is pretty high up and maybe too much pitch is going on before it can get to this band??. Anyway I will let them have a look and point me in the right direction.
hi gardgas you got a manual? i had to guess with mine.
Yes I got the manual Pete, but they failed to include an interpreter!!. Mind you the Esky ones are the same.

Please call Sean at LHC, or you can contact Pegasus USA, the two of these guys work together. You may email Doorman or Shooter, these two guys have the 411 on what's going on with the Pegasus. All three of these gus will be glad to help you and all of their helis are doing mild 3 D. Please give them a try on RR and they will for sure get back to you. In the mean time you simply do not have enough pitch at hover you need at least 8 and on the top 11 for sure the stock blades work fine but the SAB 440's work better as this has already been written. Good luck give us a email and we will get you up and flying.
Thanks, Shooter

Info

I am pretty sure that shooter has hit it on the head, and I also agree that letting LHC take a look is the absolute best thing that you can do especially since you are new to Nitro heli's... as mentioned, once tuned and set properly you will have a fine flying heli and you will have a lot of fun....
I have my engine running pretty high... I have a 2100 rpm headspeed, but that is so that I can do some mild 1 1/2 D stunts!!!!

I am sure the LHC will sort it out for you and you will be well on your way...

Good luck and keep us posted... and feel free to contact me at any time about my set up....

Thanks again for your time gents.
