The only way to save the planet is to save the bees and kill the people.

I have to keep my dog in the house when I fly. He wouldn't look good with a carbon blade stuck in his head.

Yeah, the hornets do kill pests, but they certainly aren't as fuzzy as bees. And honey, oooohhh I like honey...let's see a hornet do that!

Most of the good honey bees in the US have been replaced by the Killer bees, so I say let them die off then repopulate them with the good honey bees.

I'm just sitting here eating vegetable curry and a pita with hummus while sipping a latte while a John Tesh CD plays in the background and a light cinnamon incense occasionally finds it's way across my nose sitting in my hippie circle. And I'm thinking how much I would rather be out killing bees with a t-rex than here changing my tampon.

Maybe if the dodos didn't swarm and kill people they would still be around.

Actually I had a neighbor that had a bee hive and they never bothered us. He would give us jars of honey. I suspect to keep friends and influence enemies because a bee hive in the neighborhood probably wasn't the most popular idea. But they won't use their stinger unless they feel a threat. They die after they sting because the barbed stinger pulls out the poison gland. That's not to say I'd want a hive on my property for children and pets to get involved with.

I had some friends and also family who had hives on their property, never an issue. But again that was bees, not hornets or wasps. I have seen swarms of bees, but one quick call to the bee guy and they were collected and he put them in his own commercial hive. I think the crux of this whole topic is we are talking about a hive of hornets, which are just mean. And dodos.

Yes, I suspect the origanal post was really about ground hornets. They look the same size and very similer to bees, but they will swarm and chase you down if you even walk over thier ground nest, which can be very large, at least here in Fla. I cleaned out one that was over 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep, the swarm looked like a dark cloud when they came out. A child walking over this spot would have been killed. This nest was huge and violent.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

"Either move your dog out of harms way or fly somewhere else. "

To be fair syno, the chap didn't know there was a nest there until the poor dog stirred it up. If he knew beforehand then he wouldn't have let the dog get the ball.

I'm sorry, but if the bees did that to my dog, and were on my property in the UK then my Rappy would have to take issues before I rang the council pest control.

Yeah well... someday everyone will fly nice yellow Maxi Jokers to replace the bees, perhaps with a few Stinger missles to keep things realistic!

Big difference between honey bees (dwindling population) and Yellow jackets, wasps or Hornets which are just pests. Personally with yellow jackets I wait until dust when they are all back in the nest and pour a hlf gallon or so of gas down the hole and light it.

Burns for about a half hour but I NEVER see a nest in that location again.

hey Tachyon, point taken, but for God's sake it still wouldn't be the bees' fault, they're only doing what comes naturally.

If the likes of you, Flint, and all the others who want to kill bees eventually totally wipe out the population we would need to run a national service which involves:

1) Of those that are physically able, during Spring and Summer a fair portion of the population will spend their days with brushes, feather dusters (or whatever is necessary) to pollinate the flowers in fields, parks, trees

2) those that suffer from hay fever will either have to use special masks or be exempt

3) this national service will be enforced by law, since if no one does it we will die!!!

you and Flint will have to be on top of that list.

Point is, the bees don't actually need us, we need them. Some people just don't know who their friends are.
