I have a couple of Pro-Peak Prodigy II chargers which are supposed to be capable of charging 5S LiPos at up to 5A - at least, that's what the spec sheets say. However they won't charge my new 5000mAh 5S LiPos at more than 2.5A max - I set them to 5000mA but they just max out at around 2.5A. This is the first time I've tried to use them with large 5S batteries, I've never had any problems with smaller 3S types.

Anyone else seen this? Is the Prodigy's spec a bit optimistic?

I guess there's a 50VA charging limit that RipMax don't care to mention anywhere in the spec or in the manual.
