The T-Rex 600 Nitro Pro is far superior to the Raptor 50 in every way, even if the Raptor is equipped with every upgrade available. If you don't believe me, come down to Concord on any given Sunday morning, and I'll let you fly mine on a buddy box. Hopefully the Hobbytown in Concord will have a T-Rex Nitro in stock for you that afternoon.

I have a TOP SPEC'd R50/Kasama and my bird is for sale. The 600N flies better - period.

Trex does fly better stock than a raptor with kasama .
Kasama and Quik uk seem to be very smooth but not as fast Iv seen rap with gforce head and a trex fly about the same unless you fly like AZ than you cant appreciate the light weight of the TRex my buddy is working on flybarless for trex its going to be hot IMO I feel the rap50 is still more durable for the beginner in crashes

Its funny how one of the best Helis every built (Raptor 50) suddenly becomes a POS when the Trex 600 hits the market. I have and fly both Helis. A well set up Raptor 50 will hold its own and is still one of the best flying Helis out there. Yes the Trex 600 does fly better (a little better). Will see how it fly's after it has 300 plus flights on it. Will I be selling my raptor 50? No.

had/have both and the trex nitro is a better heli. lighter, more agile, parts are cheaper for most part and ccpm
Is it really true that 600N parts are cheaper than R50??

if you want to fly a good heli get the Compass Knight. flown all 3 and the knight is real close to the 600n and its only $250for the plastic version and $450 for the tricked out version!!!!. that extra $200 can go a long way in blades, electronics or engine.

KFilloon:

Dude you are putting words in peoples mouths. I NEVER said the R50 was a POS!! It isn't and it flies very well and will 3D with the best of them. BUT, based on my own personal experience the 600N is an EASIER heli to fly well and it makes you look like a better pilot whilst doing it. The fact that the heli looks good and is bloody cheap to own with very few upgrades required is just icing on the cake.

I also tried to sell my Raptor50 so I could put some funds towards a 600N.

The guys who can fly were really giving it great reviews on it's performance... from the 600E to the 600N.

In trying to sell my R50 airframe online, a bud offered me his XCell Pro w/os61,.... as a trade. Even if he already had an R50.

I revived the XCell and got her up in the air, and now simply tuning the engine up....

But now.... I got a pretty good deal on a Dyna-X.... and that thing is a BEAST.

Nowadays, when I get the chance to go fly at the field, I see the 600N's left and right. Almost everyone has them, from Noobs, intermediates to pros... the only difference with the pros is that they also bring their Auroras, Vibes, Synergies and Furies.

Well... i didn't get the 600N. But so far, I like my DynaX and XCell Pro. It's no R50, that's for sure.

i think people just want change, i would have bought a 600 if they werent known for self destructing on crash.

Matt M.
Matt - rappies can do it too.... ANY heli will self destruct if the crash is hard enough. 600s are not known for doing it any more than another heli - its just a troll rumor. Here is a rappy pic from the IRCHA NW funfly this weekend, the crash broke the motor in half as well as most of the heli.

Anyway, to the topic at hand - the 600N definitely feel better in the air than any Rappy I have flown.

Dude, that is the worst crash carnage I have ever seen - bar none! How can you possibly do that much damage in a crash?

It looks like it was run over by a truck. Twice!

Time for step #1 in the repair process: Open Box.

Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know

Sorry it's not a troll rumor. I have personally witness 2 600n crashes and neither was that hard. Both times the frames crumbled around the heli taking out engine parts and electronics. Just yesterday I witnessed an Evo 90 that went in with much more impact than either of the 600n crashes and it didn't crumble around itself like they did.

I have put my 600N in twice. The first time was hard enough for the fuel tank to split open and land about 200 feet from the rest of the heli. Besides the usual bent stuff, there was a small crack on the left side frame where it mounts to the landing gear bracket. I thought it faired quite well for the divot it left in the ground.
The second was a botched inverted auto, that turned into a blade stop auto about 30 feet up. Minor damage, and back up flying that same day. I am sure there must be some 600N's that were totally destroyed in a crash, (as there are R50's and EVO's and so on)

I saw a Raptor 50 throw a tail blade and go in from about 20 ft,it totaled the airframe, engine over reved and broke the rod,But the main blades survived ( and they were glass Funkey blades).
Broke the frames, bent main shaft and blade axle,Stripped gears, bent boom, broken blade grips, cut the belt, bent TR output shaft, broke landing gear, broken collective arms.

it's tough to try and compare crash survivability. No two are alike. But I've been impressed with the trex, for a very light heli it takes a good hit in stride. At least what I have witnessed.

Back on topic,
I will be getting a trex the next major crash I have with my evo. Untill then I will fly it until it dies.

LOL, glad it wasnt mine One of our club guys plowed it into the runway at the funfly this weekend. I have more pics of him holding the parts up trying to smile. It was a mess

My only point was that any heli can destroy itself in a given crash.
