I have a chance to pick up a Raptor 30 v.1 for a very good price.
I want to know from you guys if these were good helis or not.
Are parts hard to find or still not to bad?
I have a Concept 30 now but am afraid to take it out because I am afraid of a crash and then attempting to find parts.
If this is true of the V.1 raptor I will stay away from it.
THANKS!

Parts are available but I'd look for a V2 there were improvements in the clutch and rotor head area.

You can still find parts for it, not extremely common, but there are still plenty of parts lying around.

However, I would advice against getting a v1 because the v2 is a big improvement over the v1. The v1 gave me some problems which I don't have anymore with the v2. I had flying tail grips, broken clutch shoes, very loose fitting rotor head after 150flights and some other mini minor issues.

Depending on the price I would get it. If you crash bad enough you can always get the V1 to V2 conversion kit. What is a good price (not trying to be nosy just help).

I love my 30 V1, but then again she is my only nitro heli (so far!) after a bad crash my LHS here in the UK sourced all the parts required including the frames! without any problem.

Though a V2 conversion kit is available that should eliminate your concern about parts availability, at $170+, it's a bit pricey.
But if you crash bad enough and V1 parts can't be found reaily, it's an option.

Since the new flavor of the month is the Align 50 Nitro you should be able to find a used V2 50 at a very reasonable price. There are many V2's for sale from people wanting to go Align. Any V2 part will be available for awhile no problem. If I were you get a used V2.
I believe converting a V2 30 to a V2 50 is rather cheap too.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I still fly my first series v1. (then it was just a "raptor".
Did no real modifications and flies great. Parts are still available. Only real concern is the tail. Not the best construction ever. Was improved in the V2 version. I keep it this way as my second machine. Buying it depends on the offer you got. I think the conversion to a V2 is rather expensive.
