Hi guys, there is a new plastic fan (HN6072 [url=http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22_72_89&products_id=1926&language=en]) available from Align. Thicker and with different composition. Any one heard anything about recalling the original fan that comes with the kit?
I guess most of you are going to say "Screw that plastic fan, already got metal fan on my 600N and the new plastic fan is too light to be paper weight"

Hi

I am still using the std plastic fan in both my Pro's, one has GV-1 magnets just super glued in and is fine, the second one has aftermarket magnets like the CSM ones which are a little deeper, I just drilled the holes in the fan all the way though and again superglued them in place, this is fine also.
Yep the std fan needs a little bit of specail care but can and does work fine, I suspect Align will start packing kits with the improved fan in the future.

Cheers
Bob

Hi

I have never checked the balence on the fan, I did check the fan hub for run out once out of interest but as it is basically a Hyper hub it was very good so never checked anything again.
50 sized models should aways be plug and play which my Nitro's certainly are:-)

Yep.
I've had a call from Kevin@RCHelis, he has fans for the kits he sold.
Bit late for me as I've already got an Ali one.

Hi bobj, thank you for your feedback. I've heard that they (Align) refined the mould and material composition to make the revised fan thicker at base for better holding of the magnets and if the fan do lose it's balance its not going to flex as much as the original one but at the cost of weight.
I personally run the original fan with carefull construction, paid good attention making sure run-out is minimum and the fan/clutch assembly is balanced. I think this exercise help great deal for the orignal fan to last as it is.
Nevertheless, kits (both 600N and 600NP) manufactured after August shall have new plastic fan in them. The original fan is no longer produced and was not an retail part before, I think.

Thank you stevecq for your feedback. That's what I've learnt from others (Kevin's customers) too. I've got mine from oversea and like to know if this recall were official or an agent's voluntary action. As I was told by my supplier that Align has not made such a recall because the original fan is OK just not that "plug-and-play" as the rest of the kit. I've done 25 flights and the original fan is serving good.
