Is it possible that your transmitter is too close to the receiver when this happens due to it being on the bench? Move the transmitter farther away and see if there is any change.

I tried moving radio away at least 4 to 5 feet still no change .Problem started after unit was turned on and had been adjusting linkage then when i moved my hand by small reciever it started blinking like it was losing bind.

But when you move your hand away it is alright? I might not understand just what's happening, but if it only happens when part of you or your transmitter are close to the receiver, that is probably causing the problem.

sometimes when i turn it on it locks on solid and everything is ok but sometimes it either wont keep both lights on or 1 will start flashing like weak signal also cant understand what changeed after i rebound the 1 time now it is the large reciever that the light flickers on small one is ok I think it would be best if i sent in for warranty as I have 3 others AR7000 working fine in other helis.

Yeah, if you have three others with no problems, then clearly you know how the system works. It might just be the unit. Good luck!

BINDING THE NEW DSM2 AR7000

Just got two new AR7000 receivers. Neither would bind as per the DX-7 SPEKTRUM manual. Called the discount hobby source where I got them. They just had the same thing with other customers. One of the customers figured it out. Come on HobbyDynamics, got to get on this one.

If you have a new rx and it won't bind or flash try this.

Put the BIND PLUG in the battery socket on the big receiver. Plug the switch power lead into the AUX2 socket. Then do the "Bind as per the manual". If successful, undo everything, plug in all your servos and do your model setup up. When done, put the switches in your "failsafe" or neutral positions and unplug the AUX2 item, put in the power plug in AUX2, and the BIND PLUG in the battery socket, REBIND. Remove bind plug and put back the power in the battery socket and the AUX2 item is replugged.

Good luck, worked for me with my two new receivers.

sounds like a suspicious AR7000. If you disconnect all servos so it is effectively just a powered receiver, does it still behave in the same way ?

Two brand new receivers do exactly the same thing. To do the bind, plug power into AUX2 AND BIND PLUG INTO BATTERY SLOT. When done,
plug power back into BATTERY SLOT and whatever you removed from AUX2.

Been flying DX-6 for a year and DX-7 with AR6100's since JUNE. Just saw this on a new rx a friend bought and the dealer that sold me these gave me the fix info as he got it from another customer.

If you haven't been putting the bind plug into the battery/bind port, where have you been putting it? The switch harness? Guess I've never bound through a switch harness (since I don't use them), so I haven't seen this issue.

Thanks,
John

Binding

I know the instructions show the binding procedure using the ON/OFF switch.

Personally I've never used the switch harness to bind in the years I've been flying and testing Spektrum equipment. I always plug the batt plug into an open channel and I insert the bind plug into the BATT/BIND port in the RX's.

This has worked flawlessly for me no matter what Spektrum RX I have.

I have seen some issues with switch harnesses that guys had installed in their aircrafts not work for the bind. I can’t explain it.

I'd say if your AR7000 binds by putting the bind connector into the BATT port and do as I say you are fine for feeding power to the RX threw another channel you are fine.

Of course range check it prior to flight. Binding has no effect on range checks...it’s just good practice to range check ANY new RX before unleashing your model to flight.

Hope this helps.

have seen some issues with switch harnesses that guys had installed in their aircrafts not work for the bind. I can’t explain it.
The bind plug shorts the signal lead to the ground lead to tell the recv it's bind time. Some switch harnesses do not carry the third signal wire all the way thru to the charge plug. Thus if you plug in the bind plug to the charge lead, it just doesn't go anywhere (the lead stops at the switch junction) on some switch harnesses.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?
