My post copied from another thread:

I bought a 5.4V UBEC from RBORT here on RR. Running it with a TP 910 mAh 3S and it works GREAT. Extremely consistent voltage under load and the unit itself hardly gets warm. The entire battery setup is compact and only weighs around 3oz and I can easily get 4 HARD 3D flights with power to spare. A TP 1320 mAh 3S would probably give you 6-7 flights with minimal weight gain. IMHO, I think it's better than any Duralite or Fromeco setup.

Another option you may want to consider is the new Castle Creations BEC. It's supposed to be able to handle up to 10 amps and has an adjustable voltage from 4.8-6V, and it is EXTREMELY small.

Hey,

Alot of us are using the Align 2in1 regulator system with onboard glow and a Thunder Power 3400Mah 2S RX Lipo.

Some people have been having problems so we have been securing the wires in the regulator system and also sealing against fuel soaking with a hot glue gun or Zap-a-Dap Glue from Pacer Technology.

Some of the latest 2in1 regulators have got a white compound inside the regulators in the same areas we have been applying glue.

Cheers!

I use the duralite 6.v system with a step down, and Relion li-ion batteries.

Reason: the duralite regulator is a digital system.
Reason: The Li-on provides sufficient current draw for the servos. The regulator tops out at 10a peaks. So why do you need a 30a lipo? The li-on are in a metal case, Just in case? Although some would argue the the lipos are lighter?

On the other hand? A lot of it is personal preference.

Not familiar with all of the BEC's out there.

Those are my thoughts.

The Arizona heli dual voltage regulator w/ Re-lions 2600mah li-ion works terrific, I can get up to three days of flying without a recharge, plus you can adjust the voltage on one side and the other side is 4.9 volts for your gyro. Plus its a nice low weight and you can install the optional pin switch which will eliminate any type of switch failure related accidents

I'm running the Align 2-in-1 with a Flight Power EVO25 1800 2S lipo. With all high torque digital servos, gov, etc I can get 4 flights on the lipo safetly. It's lightweight and fits under the nose perfectly.

Fromeco Arizona Regulator and Fromeco Relion batteries for me. I use the two cell packs as the four cell packs are a bit too bulky.

Additionally, the fromeco reg, even though with bulky appearance weights only 43gr (cables included) and the plastic support 7gr.

The fromeco relions 2600 are under 100gr (around 3.3 oz)
