This sucks I went into my garage this morning and noticed somethings missing. They took my craftsman tool case with all my heli tools in, that really hurt also a pocket bike, air compresser, Makita drill in the case and some other things but the good this is all 4 of my helis were in the house along with the chargers and radio thank god for that.

The only thing I was bummed about was the tool box with the heli tools.

They broke the key access to the garage opener. I have since disconnected the key entry and only use the remote control. Thing is I now have put a lock on the door. I live in a condo with a detached garage. I have an alarm co. coming out this weekend to solve that problem.

True. That is why I keep my car locked in the garage and helis in the house.

Its just gonna suck to replace the heli tools though and all the little nuts and screws, wires that I have collected over the years.
The good thing was that they diddnt take my new craftsman tool box I just got last month full of tools.

I guess they wanted my stuff more than me.

i have always been paranoid about my helicopters. they are always in my sight if i can help it. someone coudl steel just about anything from me, i'd be pissed off no matter what, but a helicopter would devistate me.

i sometimes try not to let it known where i live to some people because im afraid of them attempting to break in and steel them. i even hesitate to tell people what they are worth for that same reason...

Maybe you'll get lucky and read in your local paper where some jerkoff got injured trying to fly a heli , only to find out it was your heli . People are such ****heads . Sorry to hear about your loss.

If you're not living on the edge you're just taking up space !

Its usually someone that lives nearby that knows your layout and your routine. Also check local pawn shops for the tools. My dads garage was broken into last year and lost a Honda generator and misc tools. Wound up being someone from a few houses down the road and he sold the generator to a pawn shop who called the cops.

What goes up, Has to come down. Usually in 1 piece.

I feel for you. The reason I am in AP is that last october my shop was broken into and almost all my landscape and construction tools were ripped off. Also a custom chopper I was building that I had well over $20,000 in. All said they probably made off with about 80 grand in stuff. I got about 30% of the value back with what was insured but had to lay off 6 people. All because of some A$$hole. Good news is that I was able to start my AP business that I have put off for a couple of years because of the lack of time. It is really taking off and I am almost at the level of revenues that my landscaping and construction business generated but with only three people instead of 7.

My alarm system works pretty good. One weighs 90lbs and the other is 120lbs, hard headed and can really scare the bejesus out of people. I call him my locomotive at rest.

given todays technology consider THIS

I use it on the heli too!

Some have built in microphone as well as motion detection and a software to record directly to pc.

Best of luck!

Hve ya'll heard about that X-10 sec system? Its wireless, uses your house wiring. It calls you or 10 other phone #s and let you listen in if someone is in your house.

It has inside motion, window/door sensors, out side motion lights. i might try that

way to kill my hopes and dreams there Salty!

Good point though... Security systems are so damn expensive, not sure how much monitoring service is.

I think I need another alarm company sign for the front yard. That will show em!

Dont forget the little stickers on each window.

What about a little blinking LED inside each window too like the fake car alarm LED's?

A friend of mine had something similar to what you have there and it was hooked up to his computer and set to loop every 24 hours.

Only problem was that when they broke in, they stole the computer too. It has also been know in our neighborhood that theives are using Door openers that scan through all the lock codes till garage doors open.

Make sure you contact the police and fill out a report, they do check pawn shops from time to time. Sorry to hear about scum bags like that!!

You know, the problem with getting broken into is that you feel like you got raped and didn't even get a courtesy reach around. When I was a kid, our house got broken into, they left all the hobby equipment but took all the guns and kicked the hell out of my dog.

We had someone jump over our back wall and steal all the kids bikes a couple years ago. We got ADT right after that happened. I have since had someone try and get into the back of the house through a bedroom window. They couldn't get the screen off of it. As for the garage, I have the door motor disconnected and the door chained shut. If I need it open, I unlock it and plug in the motor.
