We are looking at using the FS8 co-pilot on Century Condor Gasser. We are using the JR 9303 Spcm radio and want to know if they are compatable.
Thanks
Rob(Bobzybob) and John(Mcfast)

The FS8 co-pilot has its own receiver and claims to work with all brand FM TX's

Co-Pilot = Crap
CP4D not compatible with digital servos
FS8 not compatible with Spektrum
If you need one get a Heli-command 3A or 3D
Even better learn to fly like real men
Take it slow and do it right

As was stated, the FS8 works only in PPM mode. Works with any radio. I even used it with the BLADE cp transmitter.
Even better learn to fly like real men
I guess i am not a "real man" cause i use them.
CP4D not compatible with digital servos
Really? I have futaba 3151's with servo buffers from FMA and they work fine. 4 gallons +
If you need one get a Heli-command 3A or 3D
$399 vs $ 69? Can i have YOUR money?

Take your time and learn to fly, the fear of disaster is a far better professor than training wheels, you will be a far better pilot if you follow the steps.

FOR THE FINAL TIME
I have plenty of non-copiloted stick time and good flying skills. I like the way the heli flys with the copilot (or simular) devices. I will buy another and fly with it whenever i darn well choose to.

NO FEAR! but I do balance the checkbook. This is one of the hottest subjects on RR, short of flying your raptor 90 inside your living room. I have personally witnessed a cpd4 recover a heli that was doomed. Something glitched and sent the heli way out of range. Out of control, falling fast the co-pilot recovered the heli far above the ground. Miraculously the human pilot then regained control and landed, no damage. Even Alan Szabo would have lost his heli in this situation. No amount of skill can recover a heli that wont respond to the radio. Had the human pilot been flying around people (which we weren’t) there could have been a post on how to settle a lawsuit.

Sorry you guys took it the wrong way

FS8 has built in FM RX not compatable with 2.4 ghz
CP4D is based on old school tech, the servo buffers ( extra $ )are designed for FM TX's and has something with regulating the servo frame rate.

The Helicommand uses gyro's to stabilize and a laser for the Z axis
It is definately cost more money can't argue with that.

But would you put a 60$ gyro on your +800$ Heli?

As far as learning to fly ya it's helps but when (not if) it fails you won't be able to catch your heli

WOW I do enjoy a good discusion, it realy doesn't matter to me, I was reading the post because my friend bought one for his Falcon 400 and I have to install it, everyone should be entitled to fly according to thier own capabilities, I love the rush of the fear I feel when its just me and the machine, if I get too compfortable I will loose my edge and get bored, but thats just me and hardcore 3D flying has been my goal from the begining, I guess I set my goals higher than others

BladeMaster

If you are a real man as you say, then fly without your gyro! You never know when it is going to fail and you won't have the skills to save the heli.

The Co-Pilot is the same as a Gyro it is just another device that makes it easier for the pilot to fly the heli. I don't use mine that much anymore but it is still on my Raptors just in case. I fly my TRex's 3D without a Co-Pilot and I rarely crash them. I admit that it slowed down my progress some but kept me in the hobby by keeping costs down and getting me past nose in, forward flight, and circuits. I recommend them all the time to anyone have trouble in these area's. It really does help and there is no need to crash learning nose in or forward flight.

Anyway Please post the video of you flying without your gyro. We would love to see it.

Actually I have tried using Revo mix instead of a gyro
I wouldn't do 3D without it of course
