Hi everyone,

I just ordered my T-rex V2 and am still debating on what tail/gyro servo setup to get. I was considering getting the GY401 with the Futaba 9650. Now JR has a new G770 3D gyro out which a lot of people are starting to use for their T-rex 450's. I was wondering if anyone has tried the new JR G770 on their rex 450. I am slightly hesitant to buy a "brand new" JR gyro rather than getting the 401/9650 combo which people have been happy with for a long time. Im not too concerned about spending another 50 bucks on newer equipment since I am already sinking over $1000 into a new heli. I just want to get the best out there that has been tried by other heli pilots. Which gyro/tail servo combo is the best?

Thanks

I agree with Jimboflies. I have a 401 with aa 9650 and it rocks. It's the best thing you can do for your Trex.

Life is what you choose to make of it.

I was asking this question about a week ago.. after reading up a bunch, and also PMing many people.. i decided to go with the logictech 2100t paired with a Futaba s9257. I hope to get it in the air this weekend.

Trex 450se w/ jr770 3d

Just installed 770 on the trex after getting the gain sorted out I have nothing but good things to say about this gyro. It holds and does not drift at all. Note: Setup was with a Jr radio.

The 9650 is not the best! The 9257 is a lot better.

There is only best choice I can think off, I use it and it is absolutly awsome! I cannot imagine using anything else.

Futaba GY401 + S9257 (note, not the big S9254, but the new smaller one)

It is really rocking solid!!! They are made for each other! The S9257 fits exactly and exactly in the new tail boom mount of your T-Rex 450 new V2. The mount is made for the S9257/S9650.

Loved the 401/ JR3400G combo I had on mine. its on my Raptor 30 now. The TREX has a GY240 /HS56 on it now, which works well for me also

Just a quick update, I just got my 9257 today. After setting up the tail in rate mode, then switching over to tail lock, this combo feels super solid. I'm really happy so far.

Ok, good to hear. So, did I gave you a good advice? Are you using a GY401 or the 2100?

I'm running the logictech 2100t. I had a 401 on my old trex 450 xl, and wanted to try a 2100 this time around. Both are great gyro's but i have to give the edge to the 2100t. Keep in mind that getting a solid hover in rate mode is key when setting up the 2100t.

the jr 770 + 3400g sounds like it may be the best setup out right now.

Yes, I ran the HS-81MG for a while too, very nice for sport flying.

I really do like the 3400G alot, precision and the perfect size. Although I have to say the HS56 I have on now does a great job for sport flying, and it light.

Im using the 401 and the 3400g. all i can say is awsome! I can fly as fast backward as it will go and, it wont budge! I do think the 770 3D has a smoother piro though.

Both would be great!
