I went flying the other day and had a great time. I was getting ready to leave and thought I would make one more flight on my Raptor 90. I started it up and the first thing I noticed was the blades wanted to spin the wrong way? I checked my starter that has a one-way bearing on the start shaft and all my battery connections as its a cord-less starter and couldnt find anything visibly wrong. As you go to spool up the blades were going backwards? The leading edge was the thick or fat side of the blade. I thought I should check my Raptor 50 and it was doing the same thing? I had flown them both prior to me noticing it. Am I missing something here? I know without a one way bearing you can start the heli in reverse but this has me stumped! Any advice would be very helpful?
Thanks,
Terry

I did check and it seems to start normal and the one way bearing is working. As you give it some throttle it goes the wrong way. The way I can tell the motor is starting up the right way is the only way to chang the blades to go in the right direction would be to install them upside-down?? Still confused?

if u have the heli in front of u tail toward u the blades should spin clockwise and tail spins the blades toward u. the clutch should spin counter clockwise.

Jeepworld2002,
Thats the way its set up just like that. The blades spin counter clockwise. When I start it they want to go clockwise. I tried to reverse the polarity on my starter but all that does is spin the bearing?

I may have read your last posting incorrectly? but you DO want your main rotor to spin clockwise as noted, which is what Jeepworld said.

CLOCKWISE IS CORRECT. now why would u want them to spin counter clock ??? some european models go counter clkwse.

+ u may have mounted the blades upside down. the leading edge toward the boom when spinning clockwise looking down at the helli.

That IS the leading edge.

Okay maybe someone slipped me some crack for lunch! LOL! For some reason i was thinking that the skinny edge was the leading edge and same with the paddles. But I am wrong! SO that said it just didnt seem right but it is running clock wise and I just test hovered it and seems fine. Sorry brain fart on my part! I still dont know what way is up!
Thanks for the help!

It flew just fine the blades were not backwards I just thought they were. Thats what I get for thinking. I for some reason thought that the blades were facing the wrong way. Oh well it all turned out i just should of payed attention to what I was doing.
