Hi All,

This morning I took the Spectra out to fly. Had lots of fun, started to get a feel for autos with Throttle Hold. I still do have some residual engine power with the Hold switch but with time I will work it down gradually to eventually get to "real" autos.

The heli has a total of 46 flights now (just passed the 10 hour mark) and feels sweet.

It's handling very well in windy conditions and the DX7 radio has been flawless.

So far, so good: Great heli, engine finally seems to be OK and I've been flying instead of tweaking. Can hardly ask for more.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

Awesome!

I came home today as well grinning from ear to ear! Had my 1005 and Spectra out, did 4 flights with the Spectra and 2 with the 1005. Trying to make sure they are good and ready for the 107th FF this weekend after OC-bob's last weekend .

I remember it took me 22 flights before I started enjoying the spectra. The first bunch were all adjustment flights. On the 1005 even after 75 flights I remember I was still not comfortable. That big gas machine was scaring me a bit (my first gasser back in 1997), kinda like Turbogti is feeling at the moment.

Today I finished flight #372 with the Spectra -- aproaching 100 hrs on it now. I was talking to Bob at Minair earlier -- I still got my original gear, clutch and sprag in there along with many other parts including all bearings except for the tail box. It definately is a super quality machine and man was it so crisp and awesome today against the blue skies with the cool air. I could feel the extra power when compared to last weekend at OC Bob's with 90+ temps and the high humididty.

Enjoy your machine -- it will bring you many hours of fun!!

Yep, that's what it's all about. Glad you had fun too.

This reminds me of a friend who wanted to get into RC helis (I didn't fly helis then). We went to the LHS, he saw a Raptor 60 kit and was about to purchase it when another customer pulled him aside and said, "This is not for you, sheer size alone will be intimidating, get something smaller like a 50". He did, but ended giving up without really trying to learn and later "forced" me to buy it from him. I wasn't even too interested in helis to start with, but got instantly hooked!
