Recieved in the mail 2 new Align 2100 22C lipos and are still in the packages. First two puffed and got these free as a replacement from Frank at Assurance. My question is for you guys that got replacements as I did, are these replacements any better and are they holding up well? Or should I leave them in the packaging and sell them?
Thanks

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Leave them in the wrappers and sell them on Ebay.

Thanks for the reply. So the replacements are suffering from the same problems too?

I have 3 Align packs. One 20C and the other two are 22C. They have about 70 cycles each and have been GREAT. I really like them.

I also have two Thunder Power packs (one was replaced as defective) and I really like them too - but not necessarily better than the Align packs. And YES, Thunder Power customer service IS impressive.

In my own experience, I have found the Align packs to be just as powerful as the Thunder Power packs and they weigh about 20 grams less (if I recall correctly).

From what I`ve read, and from my understanding about the differences in the battery weights, the TP packs may be able to handle a little more abuse than the Aligns - especially in the discharge department. But, that is just my guess. What I can say for sure is that with consistent, proper handling the Align packs seem to be holding up well.

To be honest, I really do feel that improper handling (perhaps even just once or twice) is probably the source for the majority of the Lipo problems we all hear about. I have 19 various lipos, a few of them with over 100 cycles, and I have yet to see a puffed pack. Perhaps I have just been really lucky.

...Let me know if you want to sell those brand new Align packs!

Cheers,

Dave

I have four Align 2100 packs. One 16C ,one 20C and two of the 22C packs I mentioned. I also own two TP packs. All of the NON 22C packs have been GREAT with over 70 cycles on most.
When contacting Align they told me that "There was a problem with these 22C lipos and send them in"
So to be honest there was a problem with this batch of Lipos and that was admitted by Align. Improper handling was not a factor as I treat all packs the same. I have owned many Lipo's over the years and never experienced a puffed pack until recently. But then Align admitted there was a problem with these packs.
Perhaps I too have been really!!!!

Anyone with experience with the replacement 22C they give you?

I had 5 Align 22c packs replaced for me and the little puffers were as my previous ones. They all puffed 2 buy out side temp alone. All had less than 5 cycles.

Stock V2
idle 1 100.95.90.95.100
idle 2 100.100.100.100.100
Timer set for 4min.
3D flying.
If you are FF these packs they may not puff but start to pull some amps and they will puff.
They are getting replaced for me again with the "NEW" ones.

...Time for me to back-track and EAT CROW here guys. Please read on, it`s important.

I have made a careless error in my comments above and I need to make good on this before anyone takes my bad advice!

As it happens, the other day I`m flying my packs and I`m looking down at them laying on the table and I realize I DON`T EVEN OWN ONE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED 22C PACKS!

In the Align brand, I have two of the 20C packs and another that is 16C. So, I was wrong to make any comments about the 22C packs as I have ZERO experience with those particular packs.

...Sorry about this mix up. My specific appologies go out to Turboomni.

Regards

Dave

I had (1)16C and (2)22c and they all puff like a blowfish... got rid of them... the 16C just died in mid air after 2 min. of flight... Go with TP, FP, or AT.

There is a fellow that fit one into his radio, low draw and no puffing! The best part is he doesn't have to charge his radio for a month or so!
