Anyone has any recent info about it?
It is supposed to be released on/after summer, and it is near yet...

Can any at Reflex team give us an advance?

I was about to ask a similar question. When iVol was released at Nurnberg there was definitely promises of software updates (such as sound improvements, multiplayer) and next stage of the iVol hardware to be available in the summer.

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...s/Nurnberg2007/

The last news on the Reflex website is about the extended delivery times on iVol orders due to the 'unexpected high demand'.

It would be interesting to know where this demand is coming from as there only seems to be around 3 owners on this forum.

Cheers,

Nigel

and why would you spend that much money on something that is curently not a working tx. really dont like the feel of it in your hands either. they were talking about an RF module but was it FM/PCM or 2.4 gig? if i was buying a tx now it defo would be 2.4.

besides... does it work with phoenix? :-)

If it's to be of any value it needs to be 2.4, I haven't seen
the unit other than expo pic's so I'll hold off on how it's
configured and feels in the hand, But when I first saw it I
thought it's shape would play right into the gaming generation!

So I hope they add an ebox module, MP3 player, wireless internet,
and cell phone to it

I have the latest reflex 5.04 version that i use at the moment,i don't have the ivol though,i just use my transmitter. i didn't buy the i vol as my jr transmitter is perfectly good enough.the software is 90% exactly the same as the previous one.one of the + points though is the fact that you can use the interface with other simulators (non copy protected ones)such as il2 sturmovik and other flight sims.

all comments are my opinion only!

I would really like to see the multi-player update but I'm going to hold my breath.

the 5.04 update has to be purchased, that means buying a new simulator, although i think you can trade in your old one,but i didn't,just sold it instead.the interface from 5.03 will not work with 5.04

Hey Rotor-Shark where did you find the 5.04 update? I have only been able to find 5.03.
To add to rotor-shark's response, you can upgrade your old style dongle for the new slimstick. You will also get 5.04 and will be able to use future updates. Your existing dongle will not be able to run anything later than 5.03.

What put me off with the upgrade is that although the price of the upgrade was just about okay, when combined with the postage cost of returning my old dongle and receiving my new dongle pushed the price upto a little than than buying Phoenix new.

Much of this was the cost of insured shipping to and from Germany - the arrangement in the US may be more favourable as I understand you have a local distributor.

Cheers,

Nigel

Does anyone have the web site where you can trade the old dongle for the new one and get 5.04 in the USA?

The distributor in the States is MRC

http://www.modelrectifier.com/

If anyone is supporting the upgrade program it will be them but I can't see anything on their website.

Best bet would be to give them a call - hopefully they will sort you out locally because if you have to deal with Reflex in Germany then you will be in the same situation as me - the postage making the upgrade expensive.

Cheers,

Nigel

latest reflex 5.04
I checked the page, but what is really new with this 04, except that you can use the slimstick-transmitter as joystick and of course the ivol transmitter?

Few months ago I e-mailed MRC about the slimstick upgrade. If I return my dongle and $65 to MRC then I would receive the slimstick upgrade. Don't know about the software or shipping in the equation as I didn't ask.

I never upgraded as other more important things were on my mind.

I haven't done anything either as it doen't seem worth it at the moment.

I would have to send my dongle back to Germany - so by the time I have paid for insured and tracked shipping out to Germany, paid for the update and the return shipping, the cost would be about £55 ($110).

Given that the 5.04 software is hardly any different to the 5.03, I can't justify spending £55.

Perhaps when Reflex start releasing some of their promised 'summer updates' I might change my mind - but that is what this thread is all about "where are the summer updates - what news from Reflex?".

Cheers,

Nigel

Some news in their web site, but still nothing about the question of this thread.

Slimstick now accepts PCM signals of some transmitters (walkera). It seems that the interfaces alredy sold may be updated ¿on-line?. Here one advantage of the new interface compared to the old one (it's firmware couldn't be updated, or so it seems).
Nothing said about that feature in iVol.
I guess with time they will accept other brand's (futaba, JR,...) pcm signals, if there are no licensing problems. I remember the old times using some software with FMS Simulator that used PCM signals (tx connected to PC's audio in). Worked very well, and I always wondered why the profesional sims can't use them.

[Edited] A new version 1.1.0.4 of RSK (scenery constructor) for reflex 5.04 has been released (news section) and it's available for download in full products section. It's in english too.

By the way, there is a tread in http://www.rc-sim.de forum that shows how to use RSK, and it's in english: navigate Forum: [RC-Simulator Produkte / Software » Reflex Products] and search for "Reflex XTR RSK Tutorial" thread.

So it seems some things are coming...

Is there a life outside the sim?
