Yes we are omnivores and designed to eat meat and vegetables.

The latest closed study, which started in the late 70's, states that vegetarians are not living as long as those that eat meat, specifically the Vegans.

With the amount of pesticides and crap on or veggies (not to mention E-Coli) they are getting more and more dicey.

Hmmm... Only chocolate and ice cream is safe...

Well from Pistol Petes link, I need "3241 calories during a typical day"

Guess that backfired, huh?

I think most vegetarians are well intentioned but ignorant, especially the ones that do it for animal rights.

Here's a good read:

Excerpt:
In the scientific literature, there are surprisingly few studies done on vegetarian longevity. Russell Smith, PhD, in his massive review study on heart disease, showed that as animal product consumption increased among some study groups, death rates actually decreased! (79) Such results were not obtained among vegetarian subjects. For example, in a study published by Burr and Sweetnam in 1982, analysis of mortality data revealed that, although vegetarians had a slightly (.11%) lower rate of heart disease than non-vegetarians, the all-cause death rate was much higher for vegetarians (80).

Precisely why I chose the word "ignorant".

PS - it's spelled "stupidity".

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
It's what's for dinner.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I just FEEL better when I don't eat beef. Animal fat just makes my belly get fat (ter) and makes me feel lethargic.

Turkey, chicken, and fish work for me.

I lived in the central valley of CA when I was a teenager and I worked at a dairy and at a pig and chicken farm for a while.

Seeing pigs and hogs slaughtered everyday pretty much keeps me from eating pork nowadays.

Working around cows everyday didn't make me crave beef either...

Besides, after all the latest mad cow scares and the govt trying to pretend the danger doesn't exist, I've decided to stay away from beef altogether.

Anyone who trusts anything this admin. is telling them is a fool... and deserves to get a disease where their brain rots...in fact it may be why they support this admin. in the first place...

If you are human you are an omnivor.
We are a species of over 6 billion, with brains capable of astounding imagination and computation BECAUSE we eat meat (as well as veggies). Bipedal hominid skulls didn't begin expanding (some 2,000,000 years ago) until we became more adept at catching, killing and eating more meat. This is
a provable fact, as archaeologists and anthropologists both amateur and professional can attest.

Moderation in all things is surely a good thing, but to deny yourself meat altogether is to subtract from your's and your offspring's chances to thrive. We are omnivores.

I'm gonna fire up the barby and grill a few rib-eyes right now, in honor of my far-flung forefathers who (THANK GOODNESS!) had the inclination and the brainpower to figure out how to hunt better.

I think people now a days worry way too much about what happens to animals. And not enough about our own species. I guy can beat up his wife and nothing will happen, but let him beat his dog, and it's all over the news.

The cows on that video were brought to this earth with one sole purpose, to become a big mac. If it weren't for the fact that someone wanted to eat them, they wouldn't have been born, or raised.

Now people want the govt to step in and create new legilature to protect these animals and regulate these industries, all of which is a waste of tax payer dollars..And in effect will drive up the cost of food..

So just give me a steak from a cow that was abused and proded and tortured. And give it to me cheap.. It still tastes the same. Use my tax dollars for more important things. like building betters schools for our kids.

Holy crap! Wait up for me! I want one of those!

And my favorite question is:

If God didn't want us to eat the cute and cuddly little critters then WHY THE HELL DID HE MAKE THEM OUT OF MEAT!!!

Obviously our ancestors did some things right, but they also waged pre-emptive war...because they weren't civilized yet...

you go ahead and eat all the mad-cow laden beef you want, just be sure to spit out them nasty prions...
