I have seen several post about what oil to use and 3-1 seems to be a common response. I have used it for the few years that I have been flying. My brother-in-law races slot cars and he and his team have been successful in races across the country. They have found the winning combination of all of the parts of the car. After a lot of trial and error he has found an oil that works well for him. I tried it on my helicopter and it works very well. It has a suspension of teflon in it so when the oil itself dissipates the teflon is left behind. It is reasonably priced ($10 with shipping). I would be interested in hearing how you like it after trying it.

I went looking for some oil, and came across sewing machine oil. It's very light weight, and the person at the sewing machine store said that all it was was baby oil without the added perfume of baby oil, so in essence its a very pure oil.
