Hey guys, hoping one of you electronic or car audio experts could give me some advice here.

I have a 120AH deep cycle battery that I keep in the back of my truck to charge my Aerial Ships off of while driving between jobs.

Usually I charge it at home every night. However I am going on a roadtrip coming up and was hoping of coming up with a way to charge it off the alternator as well as possibly supplying the chargers in the back of the truck off the alternator while driving so as not to run the battery down.

My idea was to run power from the main battery in the front of the truck to the rear and use some kind of isolator that keeps the back battery from drawing off the front if the truck is turned off.

Can anyone provide any input? What kind of switch or disconnect to use? How big of cable would I need?

Thanks in advance!

Taylor wiring products dual battery kit. + batt isolator and switch all available from taylor. Or you can make your own out of ought gauge welding leads, more money but better. I have the taylor set up in my truck ,easy to install nice kit. the olny trouble is it wont fit nice marine bat boxes. (what you want in the back of a truck) Mod to fit or buy kit at marine boat site.

As far as isolation all you need is a nice big silicon diode. Pretty easy to do.

I have a 'cigar lighter' socket in the back which I use. Power is only available there with the ignition on. Not very heavy-duty wiring though.
