Greetings,

I need to get some of the chemical that is used to blue metal. I know I can order it online but I want to go get it.

What store or type of store would carry it?

I am on the East Coast if that helps at all.

Most gun shops or large chain sporting good stores like Bass Pro shops should have, or at least here in Co they have in the past.

are you refering to what the two previous posts are referring to or are you talking about the kind of stuff machinists use to mark up their work or are you talking about blue anodizing?

Greetings,

Bluing for metal parts. Like when it is heated and takes the blue color.

Thanks for the info.

Gun bluing only works on ferrous metals.
If it is aluminum you need to anodize it.

Bluing - This is what I use...

I've used Oxpho-blue from here:

Works great on carbon steel, never tried it on stainless or anything else. Want me to bring some to Dalton?
