Im getting into a Trex600 coming from a 450 size, My question is which would be better performing?

a 6S1P 5000mah 20C lipo or a 6S2P 4600mah 20C lipo? What would be the difference in characteristics for both? Sorry just wanted to ask cos these are the batts available from my batt supplier overseas. Which one would be a more likely candidate for the 600?

Go for the 5000mah ones. Since both are 20C the 5000mah one should be able to support a slightly higher amp draw.

6S1P battery has 6 cells wired in series.
6S2P battery has 12 cells wired in a series/parallel configuration.
Both are 22.2 Volts. I personally use 6S1P battteries.

Why buy?? when you can borrow and no return

The real difference between the batteries is that the 6S2P battery is made up of 1/2 size cells wired in parallel to make up the mAh capacity. i.e. the 4700 mAH battery would have to be made from 12- 2350 mAH cells wired in a series/parallel arrangement whereas the 5000 mAH 6S1P would have only 6- 5000 mAH cells wired in series. More connections means more chance of problems.

I take it then that the 6S1P configuration is better? How come I read a lot of people are using 6S2P configs? Would that mean more power? Easier to charge/balance? Thanks for all the fast replys. It helps me more in understanding this.

Btw my supplier, who so far has not let me down on my 3S 11.1V 2200mah 20C batts, will be the same person im getting them from.

I don't know what it is, but I have more than 80 cycles on my 8 batts and theyr still going strong. Mind you I really don't do hard 3d. I use them for 5 mins, rest the heli and put on another pack. I charge em at the end of the day and the avergae MA I put in is about 1100-1300ma to top them up again. Never had any puff nor die on me. I use an estation 701 computer charger with an external LBC6 balancer.

The 6S1P is slightly priced higher by $30. Its cheap though, under $200 each

Please point the way guys

No good reason to use a series/parallel pack except that with smaller cells you can move them around when you make the pack and make it a different shape. Also before big cells were available you had to use more smaller cells to make up the mAH that you wanted.
