With the C5 motor mount you could put the 50 in it, but then with 550 mm blades, you wouldn't be gaining a whole lot of performance from having a 50 in it. If you wanted to run 600 mm mains, you'd have to spring for a C5 tail boom and belt. Caliber 4 + boom + belt + 600 mm MR blades is more expensive than Caliber 5 since you don't have to buy anything extra for the 5. Well, you'd probably want to spring the $20 for the 15 tooth pinion to get the gear ratio to 9.1:1, but even at that, the C5 would still be cheaper.
If you have the hots for a 50 machine, buy the Caliber 5 instead of the 4. It's essentially the same price as the 4, as it comes WITH nice 600 mm CF blades whereas the 4 doesn't come with ANY blades.
