Actually the Night Ranger 3D micro is quite larger than the 4#3 at 13 inch lenght vs 7 inch, but still small enough for kitchen aerobatics. Unfortunately it is quite expensive compared to the 4#3.

I was cheeking online and came across this RTF package with BL motor, is it a good deal?

Considering that is less money than the Blade CP pro it is a pretty good deal but you can still get it cheaper---Helidirect 150. +20 for HDX 300 and 25. - 30 amp speed controller, thats 195. plus whatever shipping you select and once and awhile an even better deal on Ebay.

When you say HDX 300 -$20 you are refering to the canopy right?

I could not find it on heli direct.

Two more questions:

If I buy the King 2 RTF and 3100kv brushless+speed control, what else do I net to set it up? Do I need conectors? and what pinion?

Also what is the closest model to a King on real flight G3.5, I searched for a king model for it but could not find it.

Thanks

Go to the KNIFEEDGE web site,on the swaps or download section is a MIA BLADE CP model....the designer used a BLADE for the body but the flight characteristics are a HBK I just found it on thurs and downloaded it,it is VERY VERY close to the real thing in the air...I also got a MINi TITAN model so now I have models of BOTH my helis, very cool......I was kind of skeptical of the sim(had it 2 weeks) but it has helped my flying really improve quickly

And what is the best size of pinion? I was considering 9t to be in between.

sorry I didnt proofread very well http://www.knifeedge.com go to the forums section and click on swaps pages HUNDREDs of models to download....the mini titan model is OK good graphics but the flight characteristics are not very real but the MIA CP PRO that is a HBK is almost dead on in the air

to save a file you need to add .G3X to the end of the file name and put the name in quotes when you save it...theres a thread there that explains the download
its real easy

Finally decided on what I am going to get.

King II RTF, e-sky 3900kV, e-sky speed controller.

Now one more question what flight times can I expect of this bird with the included lipo?

Thanks.

Not enough info depends on pinion but 1000mah is weak you can calculate the runtime as 1000mah is Milli Amp Hour or 1 amp per hour 20amp hard flying 5 min. The 3900 is overkill for the HBK2 and the stock pack. I would guess no more than 6 min with a midrange pinion pulling around 1800-2000rpm headspeed. Just guesstimates but should give you an idea.

youll find most of us HBKer's are flying the hdx300 from helidirect $20 for a brushless WOW. and I am using an 8t pinion calculates to around 1800-2000rpm. good headspeed and quite stable plenty of power for most all types of flight. and not as hard on a lipo Im hovering 10min on 1350mah.

http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=1524

I have the 3500kv I guess 3800kv is the replacement read the reviews their is one in a HBK reviewed. And after hovering ten minutes my lipo is hotter than the motor.

Thanks!

if I buy that HDX300 motor, what speed controller and connectors do I need?

I am a little worried about the reviews that say the motor produced extreme vibration.

I bought the ele 30 amp but thats overkill it was $25 and plays tunes while arming wow. Also I bought three bullet connectors don't know if they come with them as shown or not. I believe fenderstrat just bought one maybe he knows. oh and by the way fan included on motor cool. And far as vibrations I read that same review and I think the person reviewing it needed to take a closer look at his heli not the motor after 20 flights I have seen no vibrations or anything if it died today I would buy another one just like it.

Thanks Tryan02!

Do you know of a more economic speed controller?

I will buy the conectors just in case, can you post a link to the speed controller and the connectors? I am a total newbie to custom setups, only experience is with RTF.

Thanks

Mine did not come with any connectors, but I had some already on there(old motor). The motor pictured on the site is the one that is shipping now, colored wires and fanI think this motor is a perfect match, its smooth, quiet, and great balance between power and flight time....my esc doesn't play any music though, is there an iPOD mod out yet?!?

I was going to by from helidirect, but they don't have the HDX300 in 3800kv.

Thanks for all your help guys! I am undecided between two setups, one from jaghobbies and one from helidirect.

My needs are as follows: at least 10 min battery life, I do sports flying and basic aerobatics like rolls and lops, nothing fancy like pirolops.

Helidirect setup:

HBKII RTF http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=3123

HDX300 4200kv (they don't have the 3800 in stock)
http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=4638

1800mah battery
http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=1190

Speed Controller:
http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=1298

Jaghobbies setup:
http://jaghobbies.com/rc_planes/ek1h-e016a.htm

HBKII RTF

e-sky 25amp BL speed controller

e-sky 3900kV motor w 9t (they also offer the 3100 cheaper)

1500mah 15C lipo (about 118g)
