I have had some expert help retuning the engine after I messed up the barrel position on the carb.

On tests flights, and it is a new engine, we noticed, the engine is running rich on low needle and on transition to midstick it will tend to run lean.

Some air was found at the top of the header tank. Suspecting a faulty fuel pipe the line was fed from the main tank also to see what effect this has. Adjustments to the throttle curve has levelled this out but there is still a tendancy.

Is this to be expected of a new TT engine?

Ive never seen a stock TTR engine run a perfect fuel mixture right through the range not even on a used one .

Just keep her running rich

I would get your use out of the TT one first , they also run very hot , just keep her rich and you will be fine .

It will get better when its run in.

search for the needle mod. I had the same problem, in order to keep a nice hover mixture, the idle mixture has to be extremely rich, way too rich. The needle mod fixed this.

I did the cats eye mod to my 30 , just remember not to remove to much material if you do it
