There are two new batteries out on the market that I am interested in. One is Air thunder and the other one is King Kong. Both claim that they cant be damaged by over discharge and are about the same price.
Has anyone used both and can advise which one is the better battery?
I am leaning towards the Air Thunder myself, but havent decieded yet, waiting for you guys take on the products.
These batteries are a bit more reasonably priced than TP OR FP.
And I would like to buy 4 of them at one once
I am using DN power now and one has puffed, after 20 flights.
Thanks for the input
Mike

my vote goes for neither. get the revolution 2100 packs. trex tuning has done a comparison on this pack with the air thunder/kong power (same batts as far as i know) so you can see for yourself.

i have 3 of them and love them.

cheers

$47 per pack and specs are-
Size: 19.5mm thick, 96mm L x 34mm W
Weight: 146 grams / 5.1oz.
Ratings: 18C Discharge

fmadirect sell them in usa.

the packs are very light and i just changed from align packs to these and altough they say 18c that is very conservative..VERY.

have a search as they were recommended to me and i must admit i was very dubious purely because of the price but what a pack....and i know a couple of people who have hundreds of cycles on them. i fly my trex 450se flat out on 430xl motor on 13t and these packs blow the aligns away power wise...hold the voltage much better.

i'm in no way affiliated to the company just passing on how pleased i am with the packs. while i'm here the cellpro charger for them is SUPERB. plug it in and walk away, don't need to even press a single button.

remove the - for it to work

battteries

Thanks for the great reply Raptorheli2
One other question. How low can these batteries be discharged?
Both other brands claim that they can be discharged down to 2.5 volts with no adverse effects.
I dont like having to time my flights, having enough trouble just keeping the heli in the air
The price is great better by almost 20.00 dollars, so if they can be discharged to the same level as the Air Thunder that would be the tie braker.
thankks again

well, i wouldn't like to say these can be discharged down to what the others claim as i honestly don't know but i wouldn't risk it....even with the packs that claim to do this as it will effect life....your call.

cheers

Hmmm.. Even an optimistic 18c is not 25c. I'd recommend at least the Air Thunders. There is a lot of experience, almost all positive, with the Air Thunders. They are a little on the heavier side but, as I have found, the extra weight does help with stability, especially in the wind.

Airthunder..there is nothing but positive reviews on them and if you do get one you know that if you ever happen to have a problem then the customer service is bar none

the airthunder are not 25c true. these cellpro are 18c true so just remember that. after seeing a review of the airthunder head to head with the revo packs it's a no brainer for me.

however, if deep discharge is your bag you should get the airthunder.

either one should serve you well.

cheers

Even if deep discharges aren't your thing go with
Airthunder,If you do go to far they will come back
even the review on them in trex tunning says they should
last hunders of cycles, And if you read the thread on them
here you will see that the author has abused his over 100
cycles and they are still going And if you trash a pack
airthunder will replace them for 1/2 what you paid!

as i said, the packs don't suit me, far too heavy.

but it depends what you want from a pack. i just fly to 75% and when the timer goes i'm done but as i said, both packs should suit your needs.

cheers
