Hi there, just wondering how many flights i would get with this setup?

Arizona Heli Regulator with Relion 5200mAh battery
3 x JR DS8717
JR G7703D gyro and 8900G servo
JR R921 DSM2 Receiver
Fast Throttle Servo
MultiGov

Its for a 90 heli

Was hoping for around 6 flights?
Or would i need a bigger receiver battery pack?

Thanks in advance

How about winter? How those battery work like -5 degree of frost? Do you have any experience about that MrMel?

Assuming you are running at the 4.8 volt level for the cyclic, you will get more than 6 flights.

Each flight consumes somewhere between 250 mah to 350 mah. This depends on temperature, how much you slam the sticks around, whether your servos are binding, etc. )Could be more of course if you have servos that bind and draw a lot of current.)

I am guessing you will get at least 10 - 12 safe flights.

Of course, the disclaimer is "your mileage may vary".

250-350 is low counted with the 8717, im getting more draw then that even at mild 3D.

Then you may be binding.

Take a look here:

http://runryder.com/helicopter/t242...light=regulator

There have been a lot of posts re this issue. I don't think the 8717 servos are that much more power hungry.

BTW, my numbers were for an 8 minute flight with 9252 on cyclic, GV-1, GY611, 9254 on throttle, 9256 on tail.

With a 5200 pack you should get 10-12 flights.

Vibe 90, Vibe 50, Vigor CS x2,
Dyna-x, Knight 503D, Logo 10,
TRex 500, Furion, Gaui EP200

No binding, and 8717 is VERY power consuming, even compared to its brother 8715.

I think their stall amp draw is 3.5amp PER SERVO

From this thread: http://runryder.com/helicopter/t372470p1
Yup - these servos are hungry. Play it safe. I get 6 - 7 flights on a FP 4350 Evo pack (7 was really really pushing it) before hitting the 80% mark - used to get almost double that with 9451's.

Have 80+ flights on mine and they've been working great - hands down the most impressive servos I've flown to date.

Id also says on their website that the Discharge Amp of the Relion battery 5200mAh is 8Amps, would this be enough for 3 8717's?

Maybe if i go for slightly lower servo, and less amp draw, i could get a lighter receiver battery, might balance out?

I spoke with on of Fromeco's owners yesterday about these very servos with their arizona regulator. Helicopter use with 8717's should be no problem to sum up our conversation. After talking to him, I will say that you will probably get only 6, 7, or perhaps eight flights, but probably no more. Their battery willalso handle the amp draw no problem.
