Hello
Anyone experienced their R50 loosing to hold the nose and having to constantly push on the rudder stick to the right to hold the nose ?

Was able to hover hand free before, wonder what has gone wrong.

Also, there is this soft slapping noise with the belt when rotating the tail rotor.

Thanks

Well ck the belt tension and how fast is your head speed the temp change might need to adjust the engine for some horse power.

Over-twisted the belt.

Wow, wouldn't the belt vaporize if it was twisted?

I have heard that sound when the belt was too loose as well.

Is the gyro initialized in Heading Hold mode? That is, does the light on the gyro stay on solid if there is no rudder input? Does the drifting happen in all flight modes or only one flight mode? What radio are you using?
Was able to hover hand free before...
Before what? Have you changed anything lately?

GY401 not holding

Running on Futaba 9CHP since 2004
Servo 9254 is only 9 months old. GY 401 initialise in HH and the LED stay solid without input. Same problem in normal, idle up 1 n 2.

Didnt change anything except re-tighten the belt.

How to tell if the servo had packed in? The tail blades reacted properly when I swinged the tail.

Thanks

Had the same problem. Try bumping up the head speed a tad.
Give that a try.

if your servo is hot then you probably have the gain to high or there is drag in the tail control mechanism. the heat will kill the servo.

After changing the gyro, tail servo, even radio, finally I found the sick point: the bearings in the tail blade holder...
Nothing wrong with 401, 9254 and radio.
