I picked up a Knight 3D yesterday (I have been flying a Knight 50 Pro for about a year), along with a Futaba 611 gyro and three JR 8717 servos.

I did not purchase a reciever battery yet. I have converted my Knight Pro and Raptor 50 to Duralite batteries and regulators (4300 mah 2S 2P and 5.3 volt regulator) and am wondering if this is the correct combination for the 3D.

I understand that the 8717's draw quite a bit more current. I also saw, in the instructions for the Futaba gyro, that it can run at six volts (is this true).

Radio will be a JR 10X with Spektrum Module and AR9000.

I do plan on doing 3D with the machine, so I anticipate drawing a lot of current.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all in advance.

I use the Fromeco relions and Arizona regulator setup, and love it. Gives you a fixed 5.0 volts to the tail and lets you dial in your own voltage to your servos up to 6.0.

The new Duralite Gemini is real nice too with a 15 amp current capacity if used redundantly. (two batts)

I use Fromeco relions and Arizona regulator setup in both my sport and 3D. Best option in my opinion.

High voltage. I have my 8717's running 7.4 plus volts.
The rest of my heli runs at 5.6 volts via regulator. Check to see what voltage the reciver will take.

i have a older single output fromeco with 4800 relion. only trouble i have had is the pin flag wears out eventually. i just replaced it with a normal RX switch rewired to short out the pin flag wires

Thank you all for the information.

How much current drain am I looking at, realistically (AR9000, ATG with a 9254, 3-8717's, and a 611 with a 9256).

Thank you all again!
