Has any of you guys tried the white gear assembly from 600E TT conversion insterad of the grey one? The reason I ask is simply to get a knowledge if it's only the grey 600N gear that is not round/placed off-centre on the shaft.

I found out how easy these gears strip sunday = (
Was doing 1st flight with my new 600n pro and the gyro wasnt holding very well and since the tail fin is so short the tail blades hit the ground and stripped the front 2 gears, lucky for me align parts are cheap and u can get 3 sets for 24 dollar. = )

The white ones are not perfectly round or true as well. The gears are come from the same mold, just died different color.

I don't get it... I just shaved off another 2mm of one of my radix tail blades in plain dirt and sand and the gears didn't strip (knock on wood). I'm starting to be the joke around here as people don't stop asking me what tail blade size I'm using and I have to answer: one 95mm and the other was 91 last time I checked

How come some break so easily and some don't?

Tony

sup, I have used bolth color gears and they are excatly the same just different color(as was stated).
Personaly it's a good thing that the gear is the shere poing because it could be the more expencive parts that break. I've broken enough of them that I have a new nick name...gearset

kev.

My tail blades never hitted the ground, but the front tail drive gears lost some teeth in the air. Gear mesh is probably the issue, and the fact that plane gear (driven by auto gear) is not vertical on the shaft makes it even worse. 1 tooth lost on the autogear, 2 teeth on the little plane gear, and it happened in the air....

I just about completely stripped my front gears in the air yesterday doing some hard piro's to do a quick load/unload on my new YS50 for breakin. I heard some chatter and landed immediatly (thank goodness) and found that about 50% of the teeth were gone! This was on the second flight since I had put a new gearset in from a crash and the tail had NOT hit the ground at all. They just let loose in the air. I honestly did not check the mesh very well as I assumed that it was fixed and therefore should be good, but you can bet that I checked the mesh when I put this set in.

Nope, there is not. The only reason that I say I looked at the mesh on the new gear was because my stripped gearset did not look like it was fully meshed or engaged judging by where the crown of each gear met. The new piece looks good though.
