I have a new one on the shelf, but havn't flown it yet because my Quick 60 Pro is getting all the $$$ lately.

It has the pro head, pro tail case, G-10 frames, no canopy, skids, or tail fins, and needs all electronics and a motor..

If you do a search here for BIG BERTHA (old name for ND90) you will find my build trend. It is def not a beginner kit to put together as mine needed some adjustments. My post explain with pictures all that I had to change and why. Biggest issue I had after the build was bearing blocks not holding the bearing, mainly the starting block one.

I had a YS 90 in it and was enough power for my flying style. The 3D guys said it needed a little bit more, that was probably my set up though. My flying style at the time was very basic, loops, rolls and flips.

Over all opinion of the ship... Good flying bird for scale or FAI style flying. Just needed way to much maintance to ME.

The Quick helis will build if you CAREFULLY follow the instructions. I built a Q46 about the same time as Magnum's build and everything went together just fine.

I have followed some of the Quick build threads, and one guy kept trying to put in the bearing blocks upside down, and even after being told that, he still insisted.....which led to grinding on frames to get things to fit. Some folks don't listen no matter how much you try or show. I guess QWW could "arf" things out for the customer, but who wants to pay the added expense for that? If the kits were mainly plastic, I guess the expense could be absorbed, but since they are either G-10 or carbon frames, and all metal everywhere except maybe the tail grips and the main blade grips on some of the 30 size helis, the costs of having it framed up to "arf" have to go somewhere.

I have built several Quick helis and have not had these problems that are mentioned about them from Magnum or anyone else. I am also flying the OD gasser which you would think required more maintenance than a nitro bird.....well, I don't have to turn a wrench on mine unless I smack the ground with it, and then it seems to hold up better than most helis out there.

I have personally been witness to a Q30 learner that had been around and taught 3 guys how to fly over the course of 3.5 years. What's so funny about it is none of the guys flew together, the heli just got sold through the same hobby shop to two other guys at different times. This heli had seen many many hours. It's still flying now with no more maintenance than any other heli out there. It took the guys from hovering to inverted to some limited 3d. They then advance to larger helis...two went on to the Q50 and are extremely happy.

Are the Quick line of helis the best heli for 3d?....maybe not. Can it do 3d?....yes, and very well. Can it fly F3C/FAI?....EXTREMELY well.

Is it a good bird to build for the heli-newbie?...if you have mechanical aptitude and PATIENCE...sure. If you just like flying them and can't build for crap, get someone to help you.
Give me a shout, I'll be glad to help with any Quick build.

I think that Big Mamma is an old name. QWW has been working on some 90 designs, but nothing yet on when it would come to market. I know the names are pretty different. When I bought the OD gasser it was called the Gas-her...lol. Irwin does have a good sense of humor....contrary to popular opinion.

We never seem to read about these machines flying only when there are problems. So far it seems only one rep has replied and no customers.

we can never have too many, can we ?

Well I still plan on getting my ND90 in the air as soon as my wallet comes back form the ER.

I hope to fly my Quick 60 Pro this weekend if the weather holds out. I finally have it rebuilt from my smooth HOT start!

I'm not an official rep, but I guess you could call me that. I buy my helis and parts like everybody else. I know that there are folks out there that fly the machines. There are a few guys that have had or have them now and fly them regularly. Most of the guys that I know that have them could care less about the internet or a forum. They just like to go out and fly. I wish I could give a better answer for you.

Well, I guess I will fly the ND90 until it dies or falls apart (FAI F3C), and I will buy a Synergy N90 for 3D.

To each their own. I hope synergy has their QC issue cleared up by now. Personally, I'm not a big fan of paying 100 bucks for a main and crown gear.

Just because everyone isn't flying one, doesn't mean it is a bad machine. What exactly is your problem with the ND90?

I do not have any problems with the heli, all the issues were solved, it flys very well. It is not a heli for hard 3D, I have to say soft 3D. So, I am not going to use it for 3D, only for FAI F3C. It is great for that type of flying, and that is what I am using the heli for.

I was not complaining about the heli, but it will be very nice to see who else is flying the heli, and what kind of flying they are doing.

No problem. I just didn't know if you were having an issue that you couldn't get sorted out.
I have always said they are great for FAI type flying also. It's really hard to get a heli with 3mm frames (that are not plastic) and totally metal parts everywhere else to be as light as some of the stick banging 3d helis out there. The guys at QWW will tell you that as well. I like the helis because they take forever to wear anything out.
I'll never be a stick banging 3d pilot anyway, so I guess that is why I like the helis so much.
