Hi all. I'm flying a Trex450SE and Lepton EX. I train in Reflex XTR, but cannot find any models that feel like the real thing. I downloaded several Trex models, and each flies a bit differently, but none flies like MY Trex. Also I cannot find a Lepton model for XTR at all.

I realize the value of the sim, but I am at the point where the feel is important. I am finding that a move well practiced in the sim feels quite different on the real heli.

I'd like to hear from people with multiple sims, and ideally that also fly Trex 450, 600e, and Lepton. Which flies most like your real heli?

I have fiddled with the parameters in XTR to the limits of my abilities, and am willing to purchase another sim. If it saves me from one crash, it pays for itself.

The Blade CP Pro is also mildly interesting to me, because I can fly it safely at my house. I tried one in XTR and it flies like a marshmallow. If the real thing is like that, I won't even consider one, but I'm not sure if the sim is accurate or not.

Thanks for sharing your opinions.

Edit: I have tried FSOne, didn't like it at all.

Hmmmm, is that a flaming marshmallow or regular? I dont know about the pro version of the cp but the stock version is pretty low on power. The head bogs easy so it's a good teacher of collective management. It's not to bad with a lipo though the collective still sucks as it would on any micro. The pro version is better i'm sure but it's not going to have the pop that the rex or lepton has by a long shot . Just as a TR600 has more pop than a TR450. For me the sim has never felt the same as a real heli. I use it stricly to figure out new menuvers then i practice them on the real thing.

I like them golden brown

The BCP Pro I have in XTR has very slow tail response. I move the stick, and a full second later it starts to move. The same when I want the tail to stop. It flies fairly well in FF and FFF, but slow piros or precision hovering requires ESP.

I read my question again, and I realize there is not going to be an answer. After reading over many posts, I might give Phoenix a try. RF looks good too, but the pricing with all the expansion packs seems a bit much, especially when Phoenix is getting such good reviews.

No simulator will give you a model that flies exactly like yours.

There are many parameters in reflex models (and other simulators) that you can adjust to make any existing model fly almost the same as your model. And you can also make a model of your real one with RMK.
Neither task is easy, but really not too hard to try. Making your own model is very rewarding once you use RMK a bit, and making it fly like your real one is worth the effort. Of course, if you have time and enjoy doing it.
Changing simulator triyng to find a model that flies like yours will probably end in a useless wasted money. I have Reflex and Phoenix and I like both, but mainly use the first I bought (reflex).

Regards.

Is there a life outside the sim?

Thanks Pelos.

I have tweaked the model settings in Reflex, but still some things feel 'floaty' and just too precise. Reflex is too perfect, the heli will hover for quite a while hands off, etc.

Since you have both sims, and I am considering adding Phoenix, can you compare them a bit? Maybe describe what you prefer in Phoenix vs. Reflex?

How are the water scenes? Is it eye candy, or is it realistic to land on? For example does the heli spin on the water if you spool up too fast, does push into the water if you land too hard, etc?

Thanks for your comments.

The water scenes are VERY good in Phoenix - in fact they have gone expressely not for eye-candy and really spent the time making them behave realistically.

Also, they're great fun too!

the expansion packs are optional as well as the add on volumes.

you can get it for less than 175 with discounts.

Pardon my ignorance. What do the expansion packs add? More models and fields? Are there also models and fields available by third party, as with Reflex, or is it a closed system?

I have them all and for now I'm sold to phoenix. The 600N there required very little tweaking to make it almost like my real one. Autos are harder than in real life though. Not in maintaining headspeed but you need to be perfectly stationary to land without a tip over. It pays off though. Blade stop autos are easier on the sim.

my two cents
