Hey there, just wondering if anyone knows of another larger clutch available for the raptor 50? (besides the basic HD clutch) Or perhaps a clutch off of another helicopter thats larger in diameter? I think maybe the new Knight 50 is fatter. Could a raptor 60/90 clutch shoe and bell be adapted to fit the 50? Thanks for your thoughts on this. Just want to make the 50 tougher for the 3D thrashing that I love to do.

I have whipped the crap out of my primary R50 for 4 or more cases of fuel with no issues. Likely closer to 6 or 7 cases in past 2 years on the same clutch.

Apart from the odd hot start my 50 clutches hold up just fine. There are a few week points on the R50 - the clutch IMO is not one of them.

You are trying to fix a problem that isn't there.

If the gap is set right, and the screws arent bottoming on the fan hub, and you align the engine, you shouldn't have problems with clutches.

Why add a bunch of unecessary weight to the helicopter? The key is in having the clutch strong and light enough for the present engines available and not make it into a brick. All R50 aftermarket clutch and clutch bell designs support the established engineering dimensions. Mine last for a very long time and as AMA 77227 stated it is best to build correctly with any clutch.
